Nice review. It would be interesting to see all 3 issues side by side ie the original from 2006, then the updated version you first reviewed and now this latest 21-pin release. I have R30333 Queens Jubilee in purple on pre-order due end of this year which is based on the one in your review so looking forward to that
Yet another well balanced professional review, easily the best on utube! Agree with everything you said Eugene. General of option on the livery i found was not great. It is an odd colour match and think spotters and modellers alike prefer the grey and red livery, i think there are six against the two black and red , 67020/67022.Like you am a great fan of the Hornby 67, have preordered the royal purple one 67007due soon. As long as they are available i will go for a TXS sound decoder. Great review as always Eugene, take care really enjoyed, regards Nick.
Thanks Nick. I did like the Grey version as well but was keen to check out what the 21-pin version brought to the table. Yeah, the TXS option is the one to go for. Good to see better profile support now.
That's a nice model. Not sure if you heard by Heljan are doing a OO Gauge Class 153 in TFW livery for 2025/2026. Might be worth a look if DMU's are of interest. My plans is to use dead rail and battery power for my O Gauge garden railway. BlueRail will be the system I will use. I appreciate the video mate. Keep up the great work Eugene. All the best, Peter.
Thanks Peter and best of luck with your garden railway, Battery power is very feasible with 0 gauge so probably the way to go. A Heljan 153, will be interesting though it tends to make sense to wait for the Heljan's to drop in price assuming the demand isn't through the roof. I have two nice half-price Heljans incoming.
The reason for the single black 67 is that TfW inherited some mk4's from a failed Grand Central Euston-Blackpool venture (A class 90 also received grand central livery). Rather than repaint the mk4's they repainted a 67 and try and pair this whenever possible. In time the fleet will probably be standardised on the grey if they last that long.
I dont know if it was the lens or they way the camera was capturing the close side views, but the body looked warped a little - ie the cabs looked as if the sloped upwards towards the each end of the loco. Is it just a trick of the camera?
It’s probably still one of HORNBYs best models alongside the 56 and 60. Shame they cant make them all to this quality. Still think HORNBY are mad announcing price rises, the value you get from Accurascale, Cavalex and DAPOL on equivalent models puts them to shame.
Yeah, these have been fine models from day one. The new of the price hikes isn't good. I'd love to see the details as where Hornby make the best margin across their railway range and whether there are loss making items in there that they need to ditch rather than engaging in price hikes. It's only going to push them further behind the others.
i recently bought class 67 with pullman light coaches, first viewd your video. help with hornby hstref R2703 GNER,one power unit and one dummy unit.Problem ishow to use dcc ,HM7000.Hornby just say two R7336.thats £65 times two.The dummy just need dcc lights .So can i use HM 7000 chip for power unit and a dcc 8 pin chip ie not hornby hm7000 chip which i have so cost is only for one R7336 ie not two £ 170 not worth it. advice most welcome and appreciated
Hi Richard, I have used a single HM7000 TXS chip in the power car and a £20 21-pin Hattons DCC chip in the dummy car for the lighting control. With TTS, you could pick up a double pack for the HST which helped keep the cost down and worked well but there's no equivalent for TXS. If you are happy with sound in only one power car then go for it.
The Black livery is definitely eye catching. Your review was comprehensive, informative and entertaining.
Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Stephen.

I actually had one of the original at one point and if I remember correctly it was a decent model overall. Thanks for commenting.

It looks quite a good one to get if your modelling region is Wales. Thanks for another carefully put together review with a thoughtful commentary.
Thanks for that.
Nice review thanks Patrick Quinn IRL
Thanks Patrick
Brill review. Always liked the look of the 67, looks lovely with the Mk4 rake.
Thanks for that.
Credit where credit is due, the gearing is obviously spot on to give a slow crawl up to really fast. A pat on the back I'd say.
100%

Thanks for sharing. I had seen some footage with the black Grand Central MK4s but didn't know the back story.
@@EuviRail Loved the in depth review
@@FormallyknownasE100 Thanks for that.
Wll you be doing a review of the Accurascale 50's when you can get your hands on one?
Yes I will. Will do a comparison to my existing Hornby Class 50 which was a decent model in it's day.
Hornby Class 67 is a good runner. If I was getting another I'd go for GBRf.
The GBRf livery is a nice on alright, as is the original Colas livery.
@@EuviRail Got Colas, EWS and Caledonian Sleeper 67s so no excuse really for another purchase. Got to reserve purchases for the new releases.

This is the camera alright on certain shots. The body is straight.
