  • Once again the Legendary CHUCK DUKOWSKI of BLACK FLAG circa 1980, this time on a NATIONAL late night talk show discussing the violence that has been following around Black Flag shows recently, including what appears to be some live footage from "New Wave Theater" and actual scenes from the Baces Hall RIOT in Hollywood. (This is all pre-Rollins, so it's DEZ singing in these clips.) But mostly this is just a ridiculous interview conducted by Tom Snyder's then west coast anchor Rhona Barret. This is the complete un-edited clip from the program discussing punk rock in Los Angeles (idiots and all).
Hardcore Punk Rock exploited in the media as usual, but this time one of the genius members of the band Black Flag gets to speak back and set the record straight.

Chuck does an amazing job explaining what the punk movement was and still is about to the interviewer. It’s a damn shame that such an intelligent and well spoken person didn’t get to do more interviews.

I saw this when it aired and saw Black Flag with Dez at a club called Jimmys in New Orleans a few days after. Chuck rules here, holding his own against the usual punk rock sensationalist questions of the day...

That accent she has is amazing. You’d never be allowed on TV with that today.

13:30 nailed it, I don't care much for this "I want to show I'm a unique individual" I just want a release from our death march towards extinction.

Well it's fair enough that the owner closed the venue. It's his establishment and those hoodlum "punks" were being out of hand. He even aloud them to do their dancing to two more songs. I just think kids these days are taking things too far!I just hope this fad doesn't catch on before more people get hurt!

10:20 how times have changed most punks I know nowadays were born into lower class bad environments and found a place for the outcasts themselves. A few I know were well off and just wanted to rebel but for the most part being born into drug or strict oriented lower class families
