I don't use Protools, Sonar Platinum to be exact. It has a thing called Exclusive Solo which isolates a channel to it's bus rather than all the way to the ASIO output. I'm not sure if this is the same as what you are talking about.

im interested to see your take on soloing now that your using reaper...reaper is far more advanced when comes to soloing
