bro this music helped me get through a horrible surgery I had like 10 years ago. time flies😔
I've always found that good guitarists are not necessarily the talkative type. Maybe it's just me, but I've been playing for a really (really) long time now and it occurred to me early on that in this mess of a world, we all need to find a voice. I personally believe that without a good way to communicate emotionally with other people, there's really no point in living. Being a guitarist helped me find that voice and overcome the depression I was stuck in. As I watch and listen to this, it brings me back to that realization and it's quite comforting. Thank you for doing what you do and don't ever stop making music.
Well expressed Alex.
+Alex Proctor
Agreed. Since I can't sing or play 20 instruments, it really forced me to find my own voice through guitar to the point I struggle with trying to play other people's material and am fine with it. It got me through a lot of tough years and it makes me sad for all the time I've neglected it or failed to connect to other musicians to expand on it.
I feel the same bro. Had been Into minor depression but this ambience always gives you an inspiration to work for your dream and give your all.
Alex Proctor all the hints you said I understand. From playing guitar I am able to relax and understand so much more! It’s amazing what music can do
I started playing in'68 as an escape from dad. But all I did was covers of old folk songs. It wasn't until I came across Andy that I started into the creative process. Not to diss people who are in cover bands, but playing other peoples music was harder for me since I could never quite match the original. Creating makes more sense for me. And I find I want to be heard. I'm 58 and started a small(very small) recording studio for my own music. All because 1. My dad was a raging psychopath and 2. Andy Othling
Dude for the last three years I've been coming back to this track. It's so emotional for me but in good way. I Love you and your willingness to put yourself out there. You're a Light in my universe, brother.
Edit: it's the end of 2023 and I'm still getting my soul quenched with this beautiful song. Thanks, Andy.
same!
Wow.
It should been called "A Whales Love Song!" I think my son will enjoy this
The lord speaks to me through your music man thank you
Wow amazing, same
Seriously 😳😳😳
Sleeping with your music, and imagine our soul
if You want a real experience of peace, listen this while you travel mountains! beautiful
Pretty much lol
Bruh... The minute I started hearing that guitar sing was the minute I knew you were gonna do this right. And well... You blew it out the park. Fantastic song! Instantly loved it. Now excuse me as I go listen to all these...
Thanks a bunch!
andy, you have become one of my all time favorite musicians/guitarists and musical inspirations
I love the fading effect.
It's so beautiful.
This guy is awesome. He needs to be in the radio
This is literally one of the most beautiful things I've ever heard. Making me tear up just listening to it. It's beautiful creations like this is what life is all about. You are an amazing guitarist. I believe that an amazing musician isn't determined by how technical and fast they can play but how much emotion is put behind their music. Explosions in the Sky and Omar Rodriquez Lopez are two artists off the top of my head that have two completely different sounds but put sooo much emotion behind their music. Their music is so colorful and powerful enough to inspire and move people and impact their lives greatly. This falls under that category. Thank you so much for the post!
You are the one Who Inspirated me to start playing guitar and i cant beleave that one man can Do a so great Song, You got my all time respect
Love 💗 the ambient guitar. Such a wildness to it, like it’s free to wander wherever.
good ear! yes, this is the first video where i've experimented with a third room mic. not sure i'll do it again, since unfortunately my space is so small, but we'll see.
You're an inspiration Mr. Othling. God bless you and keep 'em coming, man.
Just saw him in concert tonight. He's phenomenal, and extremely attractive/well dressed.
Imagine you're in a snowball fight with your crush and this starts playing
It's raining outside. The sound of the rain mixed with this is honestly amazing. I have never felt so relaxed in such a long time. Thank you for making such amazing music. You're blessed man :)
This is so amazing after a long day At work I lesson to this to calm down and relax
I never knew what I was searching for until I found this, and it's more than I ever could have imagined. I'm not exaggerating when I say these ambient tracks of yours are what help me through the day, and let me relax at night. Wonderfully done!
Been listening to this Ambient songs playlist for about an hour now...such beautiful tunes
It's takes me to the edge of the universe....don't know where my mind is ...it's reminds me of something bigger picture.....that I have to keep in mind that I have to leave everything one day...thanks bro...you're awesome....
Hey Andy ,get out of my head.Nice job buddy. I wrote a song in 1982 called: forgotten in time : Same chords & timing .Its nice to hear someones else is in this dream as well.
I would love to hear that song you made bro
beautiful....just beautiful.
2017 and this still takes my breath away dude.
he's using 3 delays as well, they all can be used for something different. What really makes the blue sky neat is it's plate shimmer mode. Pile the conventional reverb from the Boss RV on there and as you've heard, you can get some lush sounds.
This brought me to the brink of tears.
looks like he's using his slide and a volume pedal- you can achieve really cool effects playing this way, i do it all the time, super fun!
So simple and so great....
reminds of me Slowdive song called "Dagger"
Omg yes it so does
That tone. my word.
I have never been so moved by an instrumental piece of music before. Wow.
SOUNDS LIKE HEAVEN BROTHER!
Very emotion!!!
such feel
Wow
Lorenzo Antonio Dominguez Flores With a house music machine, you can't use your fingers for the feel. But house music can convey feel if you push the right buttons at the right time (and the feel is all done by composition). But with a guitar you have feel at your fingertips and composition.
That was pure bliss.
Every time I come across this video I think back to when I first listened to it. I was going through a major depression phase and I didn't feel like myself. I remember watching and listening to this video while I lost myself in my messed up brain. Somehow this song is both tragic and hopeful.
I never thought a person can have this many goosebumps instances in one song.
beautiful......
Brother, I can't say in words but YES. You touch that spot inside my soul. Many more.
Beautiful...
sound's heaven!
I am just blown away! Time for me to dig out all my pedals and try to do something that is inspired by this work of perfection. I may never duplicate this level of expertise, however, I can try and have fun in the process!
your name is jeff

@Joshua rugg, I think both. They're both mic'd up, ambient guitarist often use stereo set-ups and he mentions both in the text.
Yet an other awesome piece. Played beautifully on this one. It's like a full orchestra. Looking forward to the next one!
Just... just awesome
alwayscome back to this one, its been 5 years now. those chord swells do something to my soul - thank you
me again, keep pushing and make the most of the choices you have, time will pass but we will be different versions of ourselves, hope this video is never taken down
it's been 10 years since i first fell in love with this, shaped my dreams in my youth
Just beautiful!
you sir, have my respect.

Sounds amazing, such a nice melodic approach!
im just now stumbling across this and a job well done! easy to listen to unwind destress chill out. excellent work
still listen this song in oct 2018
Beautifull music. Thankyou for sharing this
Absolutely fantastic. Wow.
so good......I repeat...SO GOOD!!!!!
Matchless has a nice tone. Bright and shimmering but also warm.
Never heard anybody complain they have too many pedals. ;) If ya haven't seen it, check out Strymon's channel. They have an in-depth BlueSky demo where they cover the plate/shimmer function. It's a unique effect unto itself, and for me, may be the biggest reason for choosing it over others in it's price category. Reverbs or delays cascading into one another is a big part of getting those big ambient swells. Just so many options out there. Our wallets tend to be the only obstacle to creativity.
Beautiful.. at a loss for words.
much thanks for leading the way....YOU are an inspiration for all us "wannabes".....
This is *so* beautiful. Thank you for sharing. :)
Callie B Thank you for watching and listening
+Andy Othling, Your composition literally made me sob myself to sleep, I really thank you for this beautiful piece of artwork, because it gives me hope in life.

amazing.
That my friend was by far my favourite from you! Awesome dude, keep doing what you're doing! Thanks Andrew for putting out such awesome music!
I just spungled on the throttle blaster with fjord gobbler.
great music brother
Chill-out!
you can watch and see for yourself, but i believe it was the timmy, el capistan, rv-5 and blue sky. and the compressor of course.
one of your Best I think......
This is perfect
and i totally agree that the blue sky seems to be the true class of the reverb category. and it does so much else. the thing i need to learn more about is that el capistan. my palette just isn't refined enough in terms of delay pedals. i just don't get what makes one so much better than another.
Brilliant structured emotional bliss Thanks Andy
love this one!!!!
Fantastic soundscape. Best of heard in this style. Beautiful guitar sound too. Delicate song writing.
Fantastic stuff. Hammock-like
I was down from Covid last year and was full of anxiety for weeks. I’d listen to your music literally for hours and it’ll help me to calm me down and sleep. Grateful for your music. 🤍 Thankyou!!
Beautiful, thank you.
The whale sounds are so perfect
I try to put a chord change in my loops so there's two different parts whenever I can
No se si seas seguidor de Cristo mi hno pero en mis momentos intimos de oración con Él yo pongo tus sonidos y sin duda esto suma a la maravillosa experiencia de estar en la presencia del Espíritu Santo! Dios te bendiga hermano!
Awesome!!!!!! I like this!!
You know I listen most of the time to danceable or aggressive / sinister shit. But this one also gets me. I ask myself if "happy" or chilled out people also search for sinister stuff. Like me, just vice versa, u know?
***** I listen alot to Death/black metal ^^
I listen to a lot of death metal and then I also listen to this kind of chill stuff. it's good to have variety in your music taste. cheers
its all about releasing whats built up inside, ive noticed.
i love hearing how you progress from video to video.
