I just understood the reason why they used the sax in the sequel. It's one of the songs in the concert hall and if it had lyrics it would be too hard to concentrate or listen to the tutorial cues. So they had to remove the song, but if they got rid of the singer and there was just an empty spot that would be weird, so they gave him a sax and he could stay.
