66' Selene Ocean Trawler 2008 "Escapade"

The Selene 66 leads the fleet as one of the largest models of Selene Ocean Trawlers built by Jet Tern Marine. The Selene 66 is built on the same hull mold as the Selene 62 and the increase in length allows for significant expansion of living and operating spaces throughout the boat.
An extended cockpit adds 7' 3/4" to the covered deck making room for lounge chairs in addition to the built-in settee while still leaving plenty of room to access the rounded stairway leading up to the flybridge.
With the overall increase in the LOA of the Selene 66, the living space of the saloon received a 27-inch increase. The full living and dining area of the Selene 66 is on the saloon level and is entered into from the cockpit. A spacious pilothouse includes the galley so the cook has an outstanding view from the surrounding windows.
Owners will enjoy three staterooms with crew quarters aft of the engine room and all staterooms have ensuite heads. The master stateroom is complete with a vanity, full length closets, and writing desk. The flybridge can be accessed from the stairway in the cockpit or from a stairway in the pilothouse. The Selene 66 flybridge is 37" longer than her 62' sistership which allows for extended deck space that can accommodate a large tender as well as comfortable seating for eight.
Machinery spaces aboard the Selene 66 are easily accessed through a transom door or side deck door and the engine room features full standing headroom up to 6’2”. All major components are within reach for ease of maintenance. In addition to clean engine room spaces, a massive lazarette has space for separate washer and dryer units stored under a workbench. The lazarette also includes a sink and freezer for owner convenience.
And the 66' Selene 2008 "Escapade" is no exception. Highlighting "Escapade's" distinctions include the reliable John Deere 6081 M4 375hp mains, ZF 360 gearboxes with PTO pumps, AC block heaters, Northern Lights 9kW & 25kW gensets with sound shields and remote panels in PH, 2 Mastervolt 4kW Combi Inverters, Wesmar 12 sq. ft. digital stabilizers with "At-Anchor Stabilization", Wesmar 35hp proportional hydraulic bow and stern thrusters, Cruiseair airconditioning/heat climate system with 7 zones, Kabola B17 hydronic diesel heat system with 13 zones, 6 Ambient Nav monitors, Furuno NavNet 3D systems with Furuno 25kW open array radar, PC with Windows 7 operating system and Nobeltec & Trident navigational software with Nobeltec IR 6.4 open array radar, Krill vessel monitoring and control systems, Sylvia Bolton Design interior, FLIR fixed mount thermal camera, KVH M7 & HD7 satellite TV antenna system with 7 DirecTV receivers, Iridium 9505A satellite phone antenna system, KVH VSAT system, LED lighting throughout, Imtra underwater lights, Yacht Controller wireless remote system, Village Marine 1200 gpd watermaker, 2 Charles ISO Boost Transformers, ESI fuel polishing system with fuel transfer, Reverso GP-706 heavy duty oil change system, 30 gallon gasoline fuel tank with pump and hose/nozzle on the flying bridge, Steelhead 1750R yacht crane and an AB 15DLX Nautilus tender with a Yamaha 60hp outboard.

For an ocean cruising yacht with very good range like this one, not having a dedicated raised pilothouse is really a bummer. Fleming yachts are way more prepared for cruising.

beautiful boat, but eight miles an hour cruising speed is a little slow. What do you do when you're going up a river in the current 8 miles an hour. I know it's a trawler that's awful slow.Fleming builds a trawler the moves a lot faster than this.
This vessel is built for long range fuel efficiency. Yes, there are times & places where extra speed would be beneficial, but there are tradeoffs to everything.
Absolutely, although this yacht is very nice, it is awfully slow. Fleming yachts can also do displacement speeds but as semi planing yachts can reach upper teens or even 20 something knots which is awesome. Fleming yachts also have a raised pilot house, which this one, surprisingly, lacks.
