Few realise that Neville Longbottom became the brave brave man we all know in the deathly hallows partly because Dumbledore gave him that little push in first year...by recognising his courage...that little gesture did a lot more than we think it did. It was not a mere attempt to make Gryffindor win the cup...it was an attempt to help a child who never knew what he was capable of, realise what he truly was...a hero
