I think Dobby's is most tragic because here was someone who could have gone on to live a life on his own and not get involve in a war that doesn't involve him or his kind. But he did and didn't get to enjoy much of his freedom.

Dumbledore was using him for a good reason. Harry's sacrifice was necessary to save the world. It was the only way. That doesn't mean Dumbledore didn't love Harry.
The payoff here was masterful. They absolutely nailed this, the pieces of the puzzle fall into place and the truth about Snape is finally revealed. What a superbly written character. They HAD to get this right for it to work in the movie. Brilliantly done. Everything is spot on. The music, the editing, the Dutch angles, the cutting into scenes.... the back and forth between Rickman and Gambon. This, and the animated sequence from DH part one are my favourite sequences out of the film Potterverse.
And the fact that the actors for young lily and young snape are together now ( idk if they are married) makes this video so much sweeter now that snape finally got his Lilly.
I feel utterly convinced that Rowling used inspiration from Heathcliff and Cathy from Wuthering Heights when creating the lovestory between Snape and Lily.
Man, I felt that when he said, "Always" like that reminds that as a fellow man there is a woman we met that we fall in love with but sometimes in life or by the will of Fate or God is we don't end up with with the woman we first met and fall in love but for Snape, Severus's life. Lily was the only girl or woman he ever loved in his entire life. I felt that, he loved her and protected Harry because of her, for her, in her memory. I respected him and understood his character especially because I can relate to loving someone I may never see again.

He was truly remorseful and wanted to say sorry but lily broke off their friendship and never spoke to him again. Snake regretted it until his death, and found himself partly to blame for leaking the prophecy about Harry to Voldemort, without knowing he was the son of Lily, and he failed to protect her, making him heartbroken for eternity over these wrongs and so he chose to protect harry as a lifelong atonement and out of love for lily. That’s what make him respectable even though he is hated for his bad side. So I believe lily, being a good person who sees the good in people, can also see that snape is still a good man and see his remorse and devotion for her

In all my years that I’ve been alive, in 1000s of movies and shows that I’ve ever seen, I have never in my life ever cried as hard as I did at this scene in any other movie when I first saw it. This scene and this music are perfect cinematic masterpieces.

Gotta love Alan Rickman's performance. After so much time playing a sarcastic, cold fellow, he shows all the emotions and vulnerable sides of his character in a great way. It hurted when I read it, and it hurted again when I saw the movie.

In the span of eight minutes, Harry was shown a perspective so outrageously unparalleled to his own that he could barely come to terms with it. So talented person ...I admire him so much and especially in this amazing role Severus Snape , incredibly a hero character as he seems so mean to all of us but in real was the opposite,he was so brave and loves Lily so much... In the span of eight minutes, Harry was shown a perspective so outrageously unparalleled to his own that he could barely come to terms with it. Harry learned that the man whom he despised-who forever treated him as a trivial additive to the wizarding world-was instead devoting his life to protecting him. And more, he saw that the man who inspired bravery and kindness in his soul had long intended for him to succumb to an inevitable death, all without informing him until the time was best.
Despite Snape’s personal disdain for Harry, he persisted in his ultimate goal: to undermine Voldemort’s efforts and see the light through the last thing with which Lily Potter left him. The boy had her eyes. The boy had a faint remnant of the woman Severus had longed to be with. That last hope-portrayed at his death during which he looked into Harry’s eyes, thinking of her-was a testament to his efforts finally paying off.
Severus is indeed a tragic character. From Lily being drawn toward the man who traumatized him to her son carrying James’ legacy, he was constantly struck by disheartening moments. Yet he persisted. He gave his life to so many, all to be unnoticed.
May Severus, the character and his actor counterpart, now rest in peace.
