I purchased my GP200 just 2 weeks ago bcoz of your honest review. I came all the way from old school analog, then went to digital & I absolutely loved it.
How's it hold up to Helix rack or Hx stomp? I've tried headrush, it didn't compare to the Rack for midi control and most importantly the sound I was used to, I tradi my stomp for a Reverend guitar so I'm in the market for a compact amp modeler thought about the headrush core but at $800 USD and the axe fx stuff is just as expensive Hx stomp xl is about $750 I'm looking at the core for $50 more and I can clone my amps with it, QC is $1600 I could buy 3 of those off brand boards just don't wanna get stuck with it if I don't like it or it don't stand up to the Hx algorithms that I am so used to.
I have just ordered the GP 200 LT version of this. This evening, I have been trawling TH-cam trying to prepare myself for it's arrival tomorrow. I am so glad I found your channel. Your enthusiasm and positivity is very refreshing. Just about to check out your other videos. Thanks for sharing your time and experience.
My GP200LT arrives here tomorrow, also!! I'm sold on it, there needs to be more emphasis on how it works for interface/direct recording. It has a new firmware update out now, also!!
Playing guitar for 32 years. I bought one simply because I was curious about all the positiive reviews. I figured something must be really cooking in the kitchen to get so many thumbs up. And at it's price point, wasn't concerned about trying it out. In summary, yes I agree, it totally pisses all over all other competing floorboard FX modellers. Even eats my Line 6 Helix and spits it out. I no longer use anything else. They are all redundant now. It is crystal clear, grunty and incredibly realistic with very low latency (unnoticeable), perfect also for live situations direct into PA using IEM's. Sounds absolutely amazing!! 10 out of 10
Thanks for that great feedback. I know that I must sound like I'm paid by Valeton, but I'm not. I'm just amazed that we can get these tones - SO CHEAPLY! We live in great times!
I used to drag my Triple X and pedal board to practice. When I showed up to practice a little early with the power amp, hooked everything to the 4x12 I leave there and spent a few minutes fine tuning the prest I made at home. My drummer was like "bro, that sounds great". When the rest of the guys came walking in they thought I had been replaced by a doppelganger. But when we fit that first lick everyone had smiles on their faces.
I was already dead set on a Valeton but your review and professional experience validated what I could only conclude based from other online video sources and what I heard in them. I've listened to all the most popular units around ATM and was set on Valeton which sounds superior, but I was only going to get the GP-100 and will get the 200 instead. I barely use any modeler's pedals, amps, cabs and mics and even less of the time and depth based effects, but this has so damn many that I shouldn't go on the thin side. Technology is rocketing along and an entry level model won't keep me up to speed.
Thanks Jon - we are SO lucky these days with the choices that we have for such amazing technology. I still firmly believe that nothing comes close to the GP200 in this price bracket... OR in higher price brackets come to that.
Thanks for the 6mo out review. This is really great because you use in both the studio and live settings and you are selling the sound of a small number of amps that you use heavily and evaluated just as an amp model. Just perfect review information. Now I'm getting mine.
I have a slew of high end tube amps and most of my analog pedals on my board cost more than the gp200. I picked one up as a practice tool for headphones and opened it last night. I spent about 5 hours straight playing and smiling. It's good, really good. I agree, strip it down to the amp and build from there. I certainly found sounds I didn't like at all, but so many I did. I'm really enjoying this and plan to use it for recording soon. Great value for dollar that's for sure.
Hi! I got the GP200 last summer, great (I got v-amp pro's with FCB1010, Digitech RP500, Zoom G5, Zoom G3xn, etc). Really great. Played lots of Line6's of friends, never liked any of them. I am so glad I chose JC120 for cleans and Soldano for higain and recently saw your video, saying the same thing, confirming my choice! Thanks for the great video and spot on tips and advice! You are so accurate, down-to-earth and road-proven!
Hey Paul!! Thanks so much for both reviews. You really helped me make the move to the unit and I love it!! Please go into settings!! I look forward to it!! And again, thank you!!
I’ll be ordering this. I’ve sen both your videos on this, I’ve never seen anyone so sincere about any product ever so I’m going for it. I was going to put a boss get 1000 on layaway and after hearing your review I can no longer justify the expense :) thank you.
Hey Paul, thanks for the follow up, I am so glad to hear you love it. I bought a GP200 about a year ago to replace an old Helix one and I'm extremely pleased with the purchase. It is a peace of mind to hear someone like you with so much knowledge and experience loves it and even consider it good enough to replace your own Kemper. All the best.
Same here. Amazing little pedal for not so much money. I use this pedal in Stereo - sounds so good. Esxpecially when using some stereo effects. Im impressed. Play since 35 years. I only could dream of such a tool back in the day. I wish I had such a qualily sound when starting out at 16. my guitars / amps sounded horrible compared to what I got now....
This is on my to buy list. I never bring my amp home after practice so rarely get the time to fiddle with settings. I'll be able to work at home on this and perfect my tone!
@@PaulBondMusic yup man got it... Download your presets. Created some of my own. This Unit is fun. But when I'm using the looper over drums then it's lagging. Not sure if it's my unit or a valeton thing
Thanks for this follow-up video. I just purchased a GP-200 as an upgrade to my good ole Zoom G1Xfour mutli-FX pedal. Can't wait to see what this thing can do !!!
@@PaulBondMusic the Valeton GP200 is vastly superior to the zoom G1Xfour in tone and most other respects - I was surprised how bad the rhythm / drums sound on the Valeton, I mean how hard is it to find good midi tones or samples these days ?!?!? Beyond that, the Valeton has replaced the zoom on my pedal board - in fact, I even built a new pedal board with the GP200 as the center piece - back to the question of tone, yes the Valeton GP200 sounds fabulous live and recorded 👍
Ive been looking at the helix LT for a while but coming from a full analog rig (that i understand) going digital has been like learning another language. This is much easier to swallow, price wise, for something so alien to me and now i think this is the way im leaning.
I've never owned a Helix, but from what I've seen, I think you'll find the computer interface WAY more freindly on the Valeton as an analogue chap. You get to twist knobs on the amps and FX on the screen. I'm an analogue dude too. It all just makes much more sense to me.
i was about forget this brand since seeing much youtuber review said it garbage but your 6 months experience made me think twice to consider especially seeing market place for this one!!
Fully agree! Such a great pedal for so little money. I play since 35 years and am still amazed by the quality of the sounds - especially the amps are state of the art. the Pedals could be better but over they are absoluetly usable. I use the GP-200 with 2 DV Mark Power Cabs. The Speaker Simulation off of course when using it that way. The stereo effects are amazing trough that setup. Realy gigable. Love it. Share the same feelings as you when talking about that medal. The Soldano. the Mesa Boogies, so many good amps in one box. I will be getting the new Fractal FM3 Turbo and already look forward the 2. There for sure will be some quality differences but I wonder how big they are...(sorry, english is my 3rd language).
@@PaulBondMusic I will. Will be a interesting comparison. The Tonex Pedal (!) must also be a very good unit for little money. So many options nowadays. 👍
I sure would. I don't get anything from Valeton... not even a thank you email ha ha. I just think that it sounds great and is brilliant value for money.
Picked one up last week, second hand for £240. Really impressed using it at home in my little studio. Need to see how it sounds in the loud practice room and live.
Thanks, mate. Your review pushed me off the fence and I ordered one (but did it halfway through the video and didn't realize you had an affiliate link - sorry!). Cheers!
I run mine in stereo through a Harley Benton Thunder 99 pedal amp, into two single 12" speaker cabs with celestions. No cab sim, and it sounds glorious. Haven't fired up the JCM900 for six months. It's a real blessing not having to lug 20+kg valve amps around.
Hi Paul, after watching this and the original review i’ve ordered the GP200, you had me fully convinced when you said it replaced the Kemper and when you said you would use it for a War of the Worlds show. I enjoyed the video too, very well presented and kept me interested all the way through. Happy to subscribe!
I can't believe you're on the WOTW tour! I met Chris Spedding years ago when he did a seminar at my college. Absolutely adore that album and I've seen the arena tour before
Why are you only on 2.9k subscriptions? Your informed commentaries are a breath of fresh air and are vastly superior to many hugely-subscribed reviewers
I totally agree that Paul should have a lot of more subscribers! As I feel is this is a totally honest review/'talk about' that he actually really likes it...
Looking at getting one of these because I'm tired of using luck of the draw Kemper/Helix in a big worship gig. And I'm probably going to get one. BUT, you played in Wayne's War of the Worlds tours !!! Gotta be one of my favorite albums. Thanks for that, too !!
Hey Paul. Awesome review and I’ve now checked out your other videos and they are all great. Clear honest opinions from someone who has had plenty of experience and clearly knows what they are doing. I’m considering something like the Valeton GP200 based on recent gigging experience. Last year I bought myself the BOSS Katana Artist MKll 100W Head and matching 2x12 Waza cabinet. I also purchased BOSS’s GA-FC EX expression pedal which lets you switch between 8 preset channels + whatever is dialled in on the panel and you can also add remove effects to each preset on the fly. It’s a clever piece of kit but, a) I haven’t spent enough time using the software to really dial in my tones and it does tend to sound a bit thin compared to the other guitarist in the band b) They are both large/heavy bits of kit and I’ve been to a few gigs recently where our band have 5 or 6 songs and need to quickly get onstage and setup as the previous band come off. I’ve always played through an amp/cab and had that sound blasting out behind me. I’m wondering what your thoughts are on maybe switching to the Valeton which will make it quick and easy for me to take my sounds onstage. Also, I wonder if the Valeton would work through a passive guitar cabinet, (maybe I could try it through the BOSS cab)? Appreciate your help and keep these sort of videos coming. 🤘😎🎸
The valeton gp200 and the boss me90. Both have lots of hands on controls, which is exactly what I like. Both sound amazingly good. The boss is more like a pedal board; 2 or 3 or 4 parameters for each effect, nice and simple and incredibly effective. The valeton has more options, but still way fewer than a line6 or Kemper. I can fit both units in a backpack, and I've pretty much got any possible thing I'll ever need without deep dive menus.
I agree with all of the above. I find that I naturally gravitate towards the Valeton (with the connected software) because it's SO quick and easy to dial in a great sound. Quicker than my Kemper which I also love and WAY quicker than the Tonex who's software I don't like at all quite frankly.
Your voice sounds wonderful. Total ASMR. Your audio expertise really shows. Tips and tricks would be a great shout for newbies. How to connect, types of DAW, are they all created equal etc etc. Subscribed.
Great review! Your experience of gear and recording realy helped me for a secondary solo show and not taking biger and heaver gear. The only thing I'm worried is with an acoustic guitar if i can get that "Feel" and string ambiance sound.. Guess I'll find out. thanks for your imput.
So great to hear your thoughts on the Valeton after 6 months. I've recently got the GP 200 and its got some amazing sounds in it. I'm still dialing things in but it blows previous multi pedals I've tried right out the water. Love the channel and looking forward to more reviews.
I believe you’ll love the Soldano SLO 100 Stand alone version by Neural DSP 99$ US once you discover the drop down menus of Artist sounds are amazing even the clean is off the hook
Hi mate - I'm sure that I'd be happy with the sounds, but I just can't cope with plugin/software amps... The slightest latency and it's over for me. That's not to take anything away from them... I know people love them. We use what works for us.
When I first got the gp200 I was a little unimpressed out of the box , into a high quality set of IEM . After a couple of months , I began really digging at it and demanding what I wanted from it, it does deliver...First and foremost, you must get the onboard global EQ set to taste...after getting all 4 parametric bands set, and getting the hi and low cut cuts set , all of the amp sims sound pretty great....I think from the factory the global input preamp volume is also a little too hot....I have found the amp sims are more of snapshots ,rather than simulations. They don’t maintain a feel or sound very far off from the 50% they come programmed at...However, they do allow a lot of tweaking into what could be mod territory of those amps, which I kind of like..the effects are passable, but honestly could use more tweakabilty...Overall I must agree , that after proper set up , the Valeton stuff sounds and feels really good, and I have become very happy to be its owner...
Yes - you have to get your hands dirty with this device, but if you do, it really starts delivering. I love the computer interface... It makes shaping your sound a breeze.
Totally agree with you. After about over 6 months of weekly pub gigs, the most important thing was the adjustment of the global EQ. High cut and low cut are necessary as well as other EQ corrections. Compared with other high-priced Multi effects, the delay Mod and reverb series may be related to the chip, and there is a gap in quality. But in terms of live performance, the difference is not very big. But its ease of operation is great and intuitive. Honestly at this price point there is nothing to complain about.I hope Valeton can launch higher-end products in the future
I have a Peavey Triple X running into a V30 loaded Mesa over sized 2x12 cab and a Randall 1503 212 combo in my music room. I run a pedal board with a tuner, noise gate, ABY splitter in front and a 10 band in the loop of each amp. That is my preferred live rig. But I use the Valeton for all my recording and band practice. I have a stereo 50 watt power amp, BBE 382i and a Marshall 1960 with V30's and Greenbacks in an X pattern at my drummer's house. It sounds great. Definitely one of the best pieces of gear I have ever owned. I have presets I use for recording and other for practice. Yes my dual amp settup is my preferred live rig but I wouldn't hesitate to rock the Valeton on stage with my 2x12 in place of the 4x12.
Just taken delivery of a GP-200LT and as a pedal newbie I'm very happy. Initially I had an attack of buyers remorse as I tried to navigate the layered user interface, but that soon disappeared after i got me an education from YT. Build quality 9.5/10, supplied USB-C cable minus -2/10 😠, power supply 2/10. You can clearly see where they saved their Yuan. Watch out for that dodgy USB-C cable, it isn't fit for purpose and could damage the socket on the rear of the unit. I substituted it for a branded Anker cable which works solidly. The power supply feels as if it came from a fairground grab-crane amusement and I''ii be shopping for a 9V / 1A replacement that meets spec. Will be taking your advice re the amps.
I had one for a month or 2. I play bass and bought it for that. I agree the sounds from the unit are good. But. It froze on me during 2 separate gigs. I had no trust in it after that so I sent it back for a refund. About which Andertons were fine. I bought a decent DI instead. Analogue. Much happier.
Thanks for the feedback Dave - Definitely a dodgy unit by the sounds of it. I've used mine solidly in the studio and on a few tours and it's never skipped a beat. As with any tech, things can go wrong.
Paul.. You may remember me. George. I had trouble with my right hand finger tip which caused trouble holding a pick. Now sorted thank goodness. I've been playing bluegrass acoustic guitar which I love.. I've not yet got the valeton gp200 but think I will based upon you're 2nd review. I like the connectivity it has.. Anything you review I'd be interested in. I've taught myself home recording but anything you can do about recording I'd watch for sure.. I've got a 4 channel audient interface with 2 JFET inputs on the front.. Rocket 5 monitors and beyherdynamic headphones open and closed back.. I use Mixcraft. Pro studio 9.. Always good to see you... Best wishes George..
Forgot to say I also play alot of electric guitar.. I just bought a telecaster... I've got the NU-X Amp Academy which is OK as its got 12 amp and choptone matching IR.. Enough overdrive EQ and Reverb but no modulation or delay and you use your own delay chorus pedals in an effects loop.. Kinda best of both.. Can also record via usb at 48.00 32 bit.. Or into interface.
@@PaulBondMusic paul Thanks for the reply. I run the amp academy into my in face via usb with IR switched on. Also I run it into 100 WATT power amp and marshal 2x12 celestion speaker cab.. With IR switched OFF. so can record (with IR on) and play with room speaker vibes (IR off) simultaneously.... The clean amp sim I use mostly is fender 65 reverb and the dirty amp sim is would you believe a Soldano.!! Love it.... The IR associated IR are choptones and are great.. Sometimes I switch the Soldano to a 4x12 celestion greenback IR.. Both are great. As you rightly say a small number of amp sims and IR are enough. No need to have 100's of speaker IR.. You just don't need it.. Good luck to you too....
I'm really glad to hear that my Valeton GP 200 content has helped you! I'll definitely be sharing more tips and tricks to help you master this unit. Stay tuned!
I like mine - I have a Helix LT and wanted something smaller. My only complaint so far is that there doesn't appear to be a way to make the foot switches momentary - engage a function, reverb, tremolo, etc., only when the switch is depressed.
Saw your video today while I was trying to decide between the Line 6 POD Go or something else (I was looking at the Sonicake Matribox ii) - you made me buy the Valeton. Now the wait for shipment begins.
@@PaulBondMusic wow, i mean for the amount of money spent on the Valeton GP-200 - worth it! I’m gigging with it live tonight, my first session after 3 years of rest from the bass guitar. It’s easy to dial in a tone and the signal chain is just so easy to work with. Thanks man!
Dave Schools...Alembic bass. The bass patches on the Valeton GP200 are awesome. For the price, what’s to lose? I love mine. The monitors are something I’m looking into. I’ve been using it through my MacBook M1, Rodecaster Pro, and then my studio speakers or one of my amps. I don’t believe I have come close to exhausting the possibilities. You’ve got the built in tuner, I can mic an acoustic and run it through the valeton. The drums are not over the top, but they’re cool. You also have the looper and the pedal...it’s an amazing tool and the price is so low for what you get. You’re 100% correct in saying buy this thing! It’s been a game changer for me.
Great Review. Really loved your thought about it. I wanted to sell my Boss ME-80 and buy Valeton GP-200. so, i would love to hear your thought about it. Thank you!
The only downside for me is the lack of a configuration to make presets change on press instead of press/release. I hope valeton updates to add this function!
Hey Paul, pleased to report I still have mine and am still gigging it (ok it’s in a church but I still call them gigs!!). I was happy with the 1.2.1 firmware update and the new delays and reverbs, I’d still like the opportunity to stack 2 OD pedals into my favoured amp (the DC-30 clean) but have got by using an OD and a boost or occasionally a compressor, OD and then used the EQ block as the boost. I’ve just seen there is a v1.3.1 firmware but by the looks there is only 1 more drive pedal so I’m not going through the ball ache of updating it just yet! Glad your still happy with yours!
I use thGP200 with the TC Electronics Plethoraxc 3 and an extra distortion/fuzz/drive pedal. I sometimes like to have two reverbs, delays etc. and the Plethoax is amazing. I also like to stack my distortion/drive/fuzz and the GP200 is limited to only one. The simplicity of the GP200 is amazing and takes very little time to feel comfortable with. I'm actually thinking about getting rid of most of my pedals, they are just dust collectors now. If my GP200 ever failed I'd buy another the same day.
i have a helix LT, and the other guitarist in my band has valenton gp 200. But the thing is, I am able to dial in very very good tones in my helix and I don't think I will ever use anything else
I bought mine after witching your review/demo. I love it. I'm thinking about getting a second so I can run dual rigs and link them via midi. But then I would have to learn midi 😆 🤣 😂
I love this little GP 200 sounds amazing for the price. I own alot of gears cheap and expensive and this little monster can do a good job for mw when I use for a little gig anywhere, I go. good video bro.
I’ve heard of Alembic basses, and as a teen during the 70s I planned on saving my burger-flipping money to get one. But then I bought the “Ramones” album and that album did funny things to my rock sensibilities from the basic level up in the way of all sorts of invasive surgeries on the entire way I looked at rock. So then I didn’t want it anymore. lol.
It’s a very good pedal. Not that easy to use as the instructions aren’t very good and not too intuitive but the sounds are really good. Mesa boogie is great on it
Got it last week and played through it on the same evening, just using the 1st stock 4 presets at a bar and was impressed with how it sounded. Still got the Vox tonelabs & nux mg 30 and they're useful for recording. But for the variety of tones and ease of programming the presets the Valeton is incredible. Still gotta figure out the looper though.
The problem with Tonex is the amp sims they package it with are crap. I have used Tonex to create models of my amps and I love it. That said, it is strictly an amp in a box. You have peaked my interest in the GP 200, and at that price it is really hard to go wrong.
Thanks Joe... I was very VERY disappointed when I tried the software because the reviews of the pedal have been astonishingly good. As I understand it, the sounds should be identical, but I just can't see how they can be. Not in the same leauge as the Valeton, so there must be extra trickery going on in the pedal version... I WILL get one eventually and do a review.
Hello Paul, thank you for this video. I am not a profi at all, but this is perhaps interessant for some of you guys : i love my GP 200 LT and i love my Tonex pedal. Since i think the Tonex amps sound a little bit better, i am putting the Tonex in the loop of the GP 200. In this way i have some pedals in front of the Tonex amps, and the time based ones after it. It is working very fine. A lot of combinations are possible. Both are sitting and alimented on a small board, very easy to transport.
Down and COF !? Brilliant, you must have some great stories. Thank you for professional review. If you wouldn't mind answering one question, I'm a bit noob on this topic. Do I need further amplification after GP200, like powered speakers or amp head?
You wouldn't believe the stories I have! ... but they can only be told over a beer in a dark pub somewhere 😜 So - this is a common question. SO common that I should do a video! For studio, no... you can record straight into ProTools/Logic etc etc. Live is a different story. You need something called a FRFR cabinet, or a small PA system. I have both, so WILL do a video at some point describing the pro's and cons.
Great follow-up review video mate! Your speaking voice is excellent as it reminds me of Neil Gaiman, one of my favorite authors and narrators. I think I am going to pickup a GP 200 for myself now. Really enjoyed the video.

I just got mine last week, very impressed. I love the fact that you can customize every single switch on it.
Thanks for the 6mo out review. This is really great because you use in both the studio and live settings and you are selling the sound of a small number of amps that you use heavily and evaluated just as an amp model. Just perfect review information. Now I'm getting mine.
Thanks for the compliment. I hope you are enjoying yours if you got it.
I still use mine to this day on pro sessions. Still very happy with it.
Thanks Paul for the follow up, your review and insights are super appreciated. Keep up the good work.
Thanks I really do appreciate your comment. It spurs me on...
Hey Paul!! Thanks so much for both reviews. You really helped me make the move to the unit and I love it!! Please go into settings!! I look forward to it!! And again, thank you!!
Thank you for your positive feedback!
I can confidently say: You WON'T be disappointed !
All the best
We are lucky in this day and age to have SO much choice. Technology today is amazing... All the best to you too. 😎
I have the GP-200LT, and I love it. It can do almost everything that I need. Thanks for the video.
You are more than welcome.
This is on my to buy list. I never bring my amp home after practice so rarely get the time to fiddle with settings. I'll be able to work at home on this and perfect my tone!
I'm definitely getting one
I agree the Soldano sim is awesome.
100%
Always great when there's a longer term owner review after initial one, thank you for putting this together mate 👍
My pleasure! I still use it!
Thanks paul. Helped in making an important decision. Will be buying this over the weekend
Did you get it in the end?
@@PaulBondMusic yup man got it... Download your presets. Created some of my own. This Unit is fun. But when I'm using the looper over drums then it's lagging. Not sure if it's my unit or a valeton thing
Thanks for this follow-up video. I just purchased a GP-200 as an upgrade to my good ole Zoom G1Xfour mutli-FX pedal. Can't wait to see what this thing can do !!!
Did you notice an improvement in tone?
Thank you for this great video, I own the GP200 for one year now, is very easy to use and tweak.
Great to hear!
i was about forget this brand since seeing much youtuber review said it garbage
but your 6 months experience made me think twice to consider especially seeing market place for this one!!
I'm 14 months in... and I STILL use this unit on professional recordings. It's amazing 😎
thanks for follow up
i would consider much about this product!@@PaulBondMusic
Awesome review, convinced me to get my first multi effects unit, and its amazing! Thank you.
Hope you still like it... I still use mine on pro sessions.
Love it but I’m no pro lolz just appreciating this device
I have the red colored model. I love it. I plug straight into my marshall dsl 40 effects loop and it has everything i would ever need.
Great value for money isn't it!
Just bought one after watching yours and Anderson’s videos and as you say, once you start tinkering with the patches it sounds incredible! Thanks! 😊
Nice one John... I hope you are making great music with it.
Thanks George, I'd be really interested to get your thoughts about the Valeton vs the Fractal. Do let me know!
@@PaulBondMusic I will. Will be a interesting comparison. The Tonex Pedal (!) must also be a very good unit for little money. So many options nowadays. 👍
Thanks for this review, Paul! Much appreciated
Using a couple of amps and 3-4 IRs....great advice!! Too much selection can be confusing. Find YOUR sound and go from there!! Great unit
100% People can get overwhelmed by too many choices.
Great to hear the opinion of an experienced producer. I'm pretty sure you would only give credit where it's due!
I sure would. I don't get anything from Valeton... not even a thank you email ha ha. I just think that it sounds great and is brilliant value for money.
Picked one up last week, second hand for £240. Really impressed using it at home in my little studio. Need to see how it sounds in the loud practice room and live.
I hope it's panning out for you.
Thanks, mate. Your review pushed me off the fence and I ordered one (but did it halfway through the video and didn't realize you had an affiliate link - sorry!). Cheers!
Hope you enjoy it!
It's a game-changer isn't it!
Thanks Alex - I do appreciate your comments.
I can't believe you're on the WOTW tour! I met Chris Spedding years ago when he did a seminar at my college. Absolutely adore that album and I've seen the arena tour before
Chris is a complete Ledge!
It's such an honour to play on that incredible tour... see you in 2025?
Love your review, my man. No bullshit edits whatsoever. Subscribed!
Great honest review.. with your approach and experience, companies should be sending you their gear. Well done mate.
Thank you SO much!
Yes they should LOL.... but not even Valeton do, damn them!
Probably going to get this pedal based on this video. What a great presentation. They really should start sending you free stuff! Subscribed 🎉
Did you end up getting one? I still use mine almost every day... and it WILL be on The War Of The Worlds tour next year. Ulllllllllaaaaaaaaah
It’s a clever piece of kit but,
a) I haven’t spent enough time using the software to really dial in my tones and it does tend to sound a bit thin compared to the other guitarist in the band
b) They are both large/heavy bits of kit and I’ve been to a few gigs recently where our band have 5 or 6 songs and need to quickly get onstage and setup as the previous band come off.
🤘😎🎸
Love it!! Thanks again for your genuine comments, tips and insights. Got mine (the red version) a week ago and I'm loving it!
Enjoy!… remember to tweak the sounds for your guitar and taste 😎
Awesome thanks for the video, this is one unit I’ve been looking into
The valeton gp200 and the boss me90.
I liked the GP 200 so much, I bought two of them for my band TimeWhys.
I still love mine - studio and live. It's never skipped a beat.
I bought mine yesterday, thank you for the tips❤️🎸
That's great!
I hope you use it as much as I do... still to this day
@@PaulBondMusic im using right now with my band🎸🔥
Your voice sounds wonderful. Total ASMR. Your audio expertise really shows. Tips and tricks would be a great shout for newbies. How to connect, types of DAW, are they all created equal etc etc. Subscribed.
Thanks so much - I've been told I should do ASMR before ... I should start a channel!
Yes, the connection thing comes up a lot. I should do that.
Brilliant, I reckon this will be good in my collection
Great review! Your experience of gear and recording realy helped me for a secondary solo show and not taking biger and heaver gear. The only thing I'm worried is with an acoustic guitar if i can get that "Feel" and string ambiance sound.. Guess I'll find out. thanks for your imput.
Thanks Brian... Did you get one in the end?
So great to hear your thoughts on the Valeton after 6 months. I've recently got the GP 200 and its got some amazing sounds in it. I'm still dialing things in but it blows previous multi pedals I've tried right out the water. Love the channel and looking forward to more reviews.
I totally agree... thanks for your kind words.
how is its pitch shifting quality? As a Virtual Capo?
I couldn't agree more!
Yes - the power supply is a little flimsy... as most are these days.
When on tour, I power mine from my pedalboard supply.
Awesome video I just bought this foot pedal today GP200 and have the GP100 also really enjoyed your videos! Thank you 👍😎🔥🎸🤘
Thank you so much for your kind words! I'm thrilled to hear that you're enjoying the videos and that you've picked up the GP200. Happy playing!
I was already leaning towards getting the gp 200 but i think you’ve just sold me.
Did you get one in the end?
Thanks for the review! I just ordered one of these and can't wait to get it!
I hope you're getting on well with it.
Best wishes
George..
Hi George - yes I remember... Glad to hear that your finger is better!
It looks good... I've never tried one... make some great music with it George 😎
@@PaulBondMusic paul
Thanks for the reply.
Great vid Paul!
Cheers Dave
Thank you so much I just bought this and subbed to you because of your Valeton GP 200 contents, hope to see more so I will improve learning this unit
I’ve ordered one on the back of this vid! Cheers from Blackpool
I am confident that you won't be disappointed! ... You must have it by now. What do you think?
Hi Paul and thanks for your two videos on the GP 200, just great informative stuff!
Do you have one yourself?
Thanks for this video, I went and bought one based on this, really enjoying it! Especially the soldano model!
I'm still loving mine! Hope you are too.
I feel the same, it just goes into the effects loop of my 5150 now, not touched anything else since i bought the GP200 last year. nice review 😎
Yes - I used it for one gig in an FX loop and it was great!
Saw your video today while I was trying to decide between the Line 6 POD Go or something else (I was looking at the Sonicake Matribox ii) - you made me buy the Valeton. Now the wait for shipment begins.
You must have it by now. How are you getting on?
Good to hear your thoughts… it seems we are in complete agreement.
Others have commented that using a separate midi controller does this, but it rather defeats the object of having such a compact, all in one unit.
Glad to hear you’re still using it… I’ve not updated mine yet either!
Using one on tour right now... solid as a rock!
I'm here for the Valeton review but your voice sounds great ! Any tips for recording/mixing audio for youtube ? 😅
This was really useful, thank you :D Ordered mine yesterday!
Hope you enjoy it!
Thank you sir!
It will be cool if you make a Video where you make some tones on the valeton. Thx
Hope fully you've checked out some of my other video's where I do just that.
i have a helix LT, and the other guitarist in my band has valenton gp 200.
But the thing is, I am able to dial in very very good tones in my helix and I don't think I will ever use anything else
I'm a firm believer that "If it ain't broke - don't fix it".
Just make great music!
Based on your vids and the price on a used one, I just ordered my Valeton over the HX and Headrush!
I hope you're making good music with it!
Thanks mate - I still think that nothing comes close to the GP200 for the money.

So then I didn’t want it anymore. lol.
Ha ha - yes... I remember those days listening to Stanley Clarke, wishing that I had about 15 big ones to spend on an instrument!
Hey I’ve just been thinking to buy it! Glad to find your video. Very nice content. Subscribed
Thanks for the sub!
I’ve been curious about this one. Good overview; thx!
Thank you
Ok this has got me curious to wonder if I should audition one to see how it compares to my Positive Grid Spark which I like a whole lot…
It’s a very good pedal. Not that easy to use as the instructions aren’t very good and not too intuitive but the sounds are really good. Mesa boogie is great on it
I ALWAYS use the Valeton software to play around with the sounds and I find it VERY intuitive... onboard menu's, not so much.
I've had quite a few mentions about the looper, but I never use that. Maybe I should!
@@PaulBondMusic Likewise...just been configuring presets. The drum machine has been pretty good so far. Subscribed to your channel.
The problem with Tonex is the amp sims they package it with are crap. I have used Tonex to create models of my amps and I love it. That said, it is strictly an amp in a box. You have peaked my interest in the GP 200, and at that price it is really hard to go wrong.
Yes - I think you are right about the Tonex patches!
I've just done a new video where I do a shootout between the GP200, Tonex, Kemper and Boss IR2.
Hi Paul nice review. You really should do a review of the tonex pedal. TH-cam is crying out for an honest independent review of that unit. Cheers mate
I WILL get one eventually and do a review.
hey still waiting on your solando patch.....dont forget!
I won't ... that's the fun one 😉
Where are you from? Seems like you could be Dave Murray's brother.
Very similar delivery snd mannerisms.
Great video
Ha ha - thank you Waymore.
He's not a relation... not that I know of... but we're both Brits.
Thanks, I actually bought one based on your vid and yes 'it pisses over most the other gear I had" at a steal of a price .. lol
I want to put the Tone-X against the GP200 and see which I prefer.

Down and COF !? Brilliant, you must have some great stories. Thank you for professional review. If you wouldn't mind answering one question, I'm a bit noob on this topic. Do I need further amplification after GP200, like powered speakers or amp head?
You wouldn't believe the stories I have! ... but they can only be told over a beer in a dark pub somewhere 😜
So - this is a common question.
Thanks for your compliments Yogi - I shall check out Neil Gaiman.
