Painting white flowers (without overworking them) is always difficult for me so I really appreciate this video…very instructional…and much appreciated.😊
I love hollyhocks!!! Here in Santa Fe there is a hollyhock season and we are in the thick of it. I have lots of pics edited and ready to paint. Your video is good.
Absolutely beautiful!! Thanks for sharing! I love Hollyhocks! I have a Rose of Sharon in my garden. It's similar to Hollyhocks but in a lavender. Try them too?
Thank you so much, Helen! I had to look up what Rose of Sharon looks like, turns out it's a cousin of hibiscus, which I have in my front yard (and which I painted as well). I will definitely try those flowers, I love lavender. Thank you for the idea!
Karen, I just posted the photo and the painting in the Community tab. Go to my channel (click on my picture) and you'll see the tab, it's the top post.
Thank you, Henry, you are very kind! In this video I use Chinese goat hair brushes (I won't be able to tell you the brand, I bought them from my Chinese painting teacher who brought them from China), the little dagger brush is Royal & Langnickel 1/4 inch and the flats are cheap synthetic Creative Mark Polar Flo from an Amazon seller but I have to say they work really well - good snap and no shedding. Hope this helps!
@@KseniaAnnis Yes, the information definitely helps. Also, thank you for organizing your videos via playlist. This will make it easier for all to look up videos by category. If I my make a suggestion, making specific videos about the materials you use for the different mediums. For example all the different materials, paints, brushes, paper, tape, etc. for watercolor. Then a different video for acrylic and so on. I liked your tape video on orange tulips and how you also use the foam core and pins. You know, if the setup and preparation are correct then a person will be unsuccessful with their art. Just a suggestion. Thank you again for replying so quickly.
Henry, I appreciate you taking time to give me your suggestions, it helps me a lot to have feedback from viewers. I was kind of concentrating on various techniques so far, but in the future will definitely work on more videos about specific materials.
Henry, I haven't used Derwent watercolor pencils, but comparing watercolor pencils from other brands I can say that Inktense colors are a lot brighter, which I like as my watercolors are pretty saturated. Inktense are also staining and they don't have that waxy texture that some watercolor pencils have.
@@KseniaAnnis Hello Ms Annis, Thank you again for your well explained reply and your insight regarding other watercolor pencils. I truly appreciate your opinion and continued assistance.
Wow…. I just had a lightbulb moment when you started painting the background! Negative painting. Brilliant. Thank you!💕Cathy

Thank you so much, Christine! And thank you for the idea, I’ve never tried hyacinths but I love them and will paint them!

@@KseniaAnnis What kind of brush material is the 1/4 inch Royal and Langnickel brush? At Amazon, there are so many different ones. Thank you again.
It's Mini Majestic 4200G series 1/4 inch, it's synthetic. Here it is on Amazon - www.amazon.com/dp/B004L3HGL8/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_iFQQFbNABW8BY

What is the difference between the Derwent Inktense pencils and the Derwent watercolour pencils? Which do you recommend/prefer? Thank you
