This was the best move he could've taken. If he ignored it and continued the rest of the RP would be uncomfortable. If he told them to stop, it would've spiraled into a messier situation.
I think this was a huge overreaction. I am a lesbian myself but quitting a game just because someone randomly threw out the word, despite it being a nono word, is so odd to me.

You know, it's sad but people like those in the video actually think this way. They're so miserable and hate the world as much as they hate themselves, if not more, because they see others in better frames of mind than them, having fun or living a great life. They want others to suffer because suffering is all they know, but they also have the opprotunity to experience joy but slap an outreaching hand to the side. This reminds me of folks on reddit who defend people saying the most fucked shit to others in chat or even Jerma himself. Like, it's clear where he stands on this. What's wrong with feeling upset at a literal slur?
Exactly. People have freedom of speech and can say whatever they want, but if you say something such as a slur then expect to have some backlash. the frown on his face after he heard that was very audible
"You have no power here, Gandalf The Gay."
"Two can play at that game, Sauroman the Straight." And then they shoot their "magic" from their "staves"
This was the best move he could've taken. If he ignored it and continued the rest of the RP would be uncomfortable. If he told them to stop, it would've spiraled into a messier situation.
big disagree, letting a loser spoil your fun is letting them win.
I think this was a huge overreaction. I am a lesbian myself but quitting a game just because someone randomly threw out the word, despite it being a nono word, is so odd to me.
@@zarrowthehorse You have to consider a lot of other factors for this. If he kept going like nothing happened, some people in chat would be irritated that he let it slide. Not only that, but for the rest of the RP, there would be a looming tension since they sharing the same server with that person
But the BIGGEST overwhelming reason that he didn't continue is because Jerma has made it abundantly clear that there is no tolerance for hate speech, politics, or anything that causes serious unrest in his streams. It's not just about a single word ruining the fun, it's about the entire stream and the communitys reaction. Regardless of if you are offended or not, you can't speak for ten thousand other people.
@@zarrowthehorse it's not odd, he wanted to have fun and someone saying that ruined his fun.
@@wavehellholein my experience it's much more fun to just leave that game and join a different one than staying with hateful people just to prove a dumb point to yourself. It's miserable sticking around those people just because you don't want to 'let them win'. Just leave them to their own world of hatred and continue your fun game elsewhere, not caring what they think. I'm a lot happier that way.
People need to understand it's not just hearing a WORD that is the problem. It doesn't matter if you're part of LGBTQ or not, you cannot tell me that the vibe wasn't ruined as soon as someone in the lobby says a hateful term. No one wants to keep swimming, even if someone shit on the opposite side of the pool. Just because you can say that the shit doesn't effect you doesn't make it any less uncomfortable for everyone to stay in the water.
Yep, this shit is 100% the reason why nobody is using voip in this game.
It would've been cool if he told them to go f*** themselves instead of immediately bowing out, but that's just me
@@cornjeebus Assholes who jump online to throw slurs around usually are just there to get a reaction, I think Jerma handled it well by not feeding him and moving on
@@trickytraveller3272 that's true, he handled it very professionally, but it would've been nice to hear at least one "what a fawkin idiot" towards the situation instead of just the apologies. If not towards the idiot in question, but to remind some of the idiots in chat why that sort of thing shouldn't be accepted as normal
@@cornjeebus As trickytraveller has said, it will only encourage them as it they are baiting for reactions. Ignoring and muting them is just the better solution in this situation.

-That guy, probably
the read more made me think you were about to be agreeing with that guy. Turns out it was just a meme lol
The best thing to do is ignore those pitiful creatures and just continue doing what makes you happy, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

There’s not really a way Jerma could win from a public standpoint.
If he said something, it would’ve been “you’re taking the bait”. And if he didn’t, it would’ve been “letting the trolls win”. And I think with his hands tied, he really handled that the best way he could’ve
It's within others free speech to say that the f slur is wrong. I don't get why people jump to the defense of the person who SAYS the slur as if they're a victim to "woke culture" and "pc liberals". Like no, they just said an incredibly offensive slur that has a nasty history behind it. The person who should be defended is the one who has been called the slur.
