  • This video gives you an idea about the modifications I have done to the car to make it overland-ready. I have been a fan of Overlanding for the last 7-8 years and have always wanted to build my overlander. However, I never got the chance and time to build it.
    When I started thinking about it, I realized that it is super expensive to build one.
    When everything went under lockdown, I started designing my overlander with the thought of making it super affordable. The process was long and tiring, however, the result is very satisfying for me.
    I managed to make my DIY rooftop tent under rs15,000/-, awning for rs2,500/-. I have also installed an auxiliary battery setup under rs13,000/- including 100amps battery which was for rs8,000/- and 100watts solar panel for 8,000/-.
    Please go through the video if you want to convert any car into an overlander/campervan.

    Luvly job with the rooftop tent, bro. Exactly what I am already getting done too. Great (frugal) minds think alike! I have an even cheaper awning set up with a normal tarp and segmented curtain rods. We should talk! Will DM you. Happy camping, buddy.

    Hi ,Can I put a 50Ah led acid battery instead of 35Ah stock company fitted led acid battery in my Gypsy King? Will the Alternator take the load of charging a 50Ah battery,Hope the alternator doesn't burn? will there be any issues?....thanks

    • @ShubhamNagpal27
      @ShubhamNagpal27  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Mani,
      Actually, you can!
      Even I was planning to upgrade mine..
      In my opinion, the life of the alternator will obviously be affected (running more than its ideal situation) but it should not burn.
      Do not go beyond that though!

      @@ShubhamNagpal27 Thanks for your reply.....So you mean I can put a 50Ah without altering the alternator and drive hasselfree?

      @@manimenon5403 in most cases, it should be fine but it will degrade the life of the alternator

      Hi Guys, Sorry for the intervention.
      First of all great video Shubham and I loved the setup you made sir also relate it with somewhat similar to my Gypsy setup. I built my gypsy in Delhi but Its currently with me in Bangalore where I use it.
      I made a similar duel battery setup in my gypsy 1. 35Ah which is a company fit, 2. 50Ah for leasure and had separately connected them for charging from alternator through switch system so it's one battery at a time.Used it for 2yrs and never faced any issues and now planning to get it fixed properly under the hood for which I am finding a fabricator here in bangalore. So I feel no issues till 50Ah ....more Ah than that might not charge the battery immediately and I am not even sure of that.....Cheers

      @@ShubhamNagpal27 So that means the car can be standstill on the road then its dangerous, the problem is mechanics are also not very clear on this so it's a risk of wasting monies.
