Eevie, do you have or can you make a video regarding how to assign your ISBN and publish your book on KDP? In order to download your ISBN you have to have a price - in order to get a price you have to upload onto KDP where you will need your ISBN? How does this work? The chicken or the egg first? I'm losing my mind over this. My illustrator also can't complete the front cover for the ISBN because she needs the back cover which also needs the ISBN which I can't finish getting because of all of the above!! Please help with the order of all this!!?? I feel so stupid that I can't figure this out.
Here we go, Lillith! The first one is about ISBNs and the 2nd one about the barcode: (1) th-cam.com/video/mqkm8NI23hE/w-d-xo.html (2) th-cam.com/video/Yf0amdS3IVY/w-d-xo.html . And don't worry, we don't need a price in order to place a barcode onto our cover (see 2nd video). I so hope this helps.
Thank you so much for replying. I rewatched the ISBN video and understand now that all I need from my purchased ISBN is the number provided and I don't have to fill out anything else until I want to assign it after my book is published. But at that time I will need to provide a price when I fill out the part for assigning the ISBN, correct? And the bar code video was very helpful and I am on my way now to get a barcode. Thank you so very much! @@EeviJones
I have a full color childrens book with 25 pages (excluding the front and back cover). I price it for $12.99. Im just new to amazon selling my own publish book. Is the price is high or ahould i lowered it? I already sold 26 copies for a few weeks now prior its release. If i lowered the price, will my royalty also change from the previous books thats already been sold?
Hi Allan! How are you? I hope you've been having a fantastic week and that you've enjoyed this video. As I shared in the video, I would go ahead and see what similar books are being sold for, and then try to price my book accordingly. And our future price changes won't change our previous sales. I so hope this helps!
Perfect! Would you recommend if I will lowered the 12.99 price for my paper back book? Thank you so much for enlightining me! ❤❤❤
Someone please help me understand this. According to the Amazon royalty calculator a 32 page picture book would have to sell for 7 USD just to break even. Still, many such paperbacks sell for less than that. I'm confused.
Hi there! I'll be that 'someone.' That's because many of these books have been printed in bulk, whereas books via KDP or IngramSpark are printed on demand, meaning one book at a time, which is always more expensive.
@@EeviJones Thank you Eevi. Do you have a video that explains that process, i.e. selling a bulk printed book via Amazon while bypassing KDP and IngramSpark?
My videos focus mostly on print-on-demand (KDP), mainly because most people are not able to afford offset printing. This video right here shares the differences, along with some in-depth numbers to hopefully help you make a decision which way to go: th-cam.com/video/sJmI5uW6Nqw/w-d-xo.html
Some dump their price for a week or two to get their book higher on hhe Amazon SEO list. Do Amazon really allow such an introduction price? Is it a good idea? Do you do this?
Hi Thomas! Authors can enroll their books into KDP Select, which enables them to offer their book for free for a certain amount of time. It's a launch strategy many find helpful. I've added the link to a separate video on just that. I hope this helps! th-cam.com/video/QAp_KTIBktU/w-d-xo.html
