I usually have a tough time deciding when to do a "Tig Welding Art" video, or a "How To Tig Weld Aluminum" video...so today I try something new, where I do both. I've wanted to learn How To Make A Rose Sculpture for a while now, and I actually got asked in a comment if I would make one for a Welding Art episode. I’ve actually been toying with the idea of doing a Japanese dragon of some kind! Gotta think of a way to ‘weird’ it up though😂 You know me- can’t do anything the normal way😂

Dude thank you. Jimi was a hero of mine, straight from the Seattle vein of people who did things differently. That’s a huge compliment. I really am inspired by the great welders doing art in the trade- and they push me to do my own thing. Gotta keep it original!
As a matter of fact I did the carving by hand with a dremel- but stupidly didn’t film it. I’ll film another project where I do it. See? Always learning...😂

Tip...make small pieces and grind it the heat will make it curl naturally. Just another method takes longer...each petal individually
Wow! Actually was just doin some research on the Canaweld tig welder, but after seeing you work decided to sub 👍😁👍. Looks like a good little machine. You do a far crys better job demonstrating it than Canaweld does 🤣.

Your sculpture is superb
Your art work and metal sculpting is superb! The only question I have is that your rustic wood backgrounds...Well, I truly don't think they go well with your metal crafted artwork pieces. LOL I mean if you put your beautiful art work on a very nicely machined, sanded, sealed beveled piece of wood for mounting your entire project would be like a museum piece! The background of artwork is usually the most important part of the art itself. Like what the statue is standing on. I must add that I would make the backgrounds equally as nice. I know you may be thinking not to because you want the eye to be drawn away from your subject matter. But I believe your artist ability can be put to use to a greater vibrance by adding brilliance to the total finished pieces. Once you either get that going or have someone do your stands or backgrounds you will be on a whole new higher level of financial gain! I think I've already heard you mention you lack wood working skills as well as tools to do it correctly in one or more of your videos. I understand that. Wood working is a fine art just like your craft you specialize in. IN MY OPINION>>>My advice is to spend as much time creating the smoothest sexiest piece of lumber art as you can if you are going to mount or stand your craft on it. I don't believe the rustic approach does your art justice is all. Sure I agree there is a bit of rustic appeal to your welding. But...You have a primo craft. Make all the pieces work together. Make them look great together... and then raise the price for the entire project. Also I'd show you what I could do but first I need a bit of help on what machine to buy. What materials to use, and what to do getting started. Thanks! Great work buddy.
How do you not blow all that up on 150 amps? I'll tell you I should be making videos of me learning to tig.
I could be famous for how clueless I am now, yesterday I put my machine on 20 amps (lowest on a/c) and tried to do autogenous welding on a pop can & the thing blew about 100 holes into it. Yikes.
Finally last night I went online and ordered some practice coupons & filler rod. Everything I have is either rusty or my 1/8 inch aluminum has been sitting outside in the weather for years on the south side of my house & it needs toooooooo much cleaning.
Definitely a great move to order some fresh stuff. Life will get a LOT easier with that stuff for you. Where’d you order your practice coupons from? Stoked to hear how it goes!
