When I first watched Haikyuu I didn't know anything about volleyball and everything looked impressive to me. Now that I've been diving into watchiing volleyball, I can clearly see how the training camp and their practices overall conduced them to HUGE improvements. In season 1 Karasuno is actually quite messy, they don't coordinate so well (specially the first years), their defense is pretty weak except for Nishinoya and Daichi, and their offense isn't too technical. They did fine and through willpower and the experience of the third years and second years they almost beat Seijoh. But now they're becoming a god damn powerhouse. Their blocks are quite better now that Tsukishima, Kageyama and Hinata have improved and Asahi has more confidence. Tanaka and Asahi are now quite better at receiving, and Tsukishima has also improved a little. Hinata has started to learn more technical tihngs for mid-air battles, and Nishinoya can also set, which improve their attacks A LOT. Now they are a really consistent team. Even though all of them have their weaknesses, the sum of the team is incredibly balanced and functional. Not to mention that they're incredibly versatile, which is a super strong weapon since adapting in volleyball is the key in matches
Oikawa's serves seem to have a budget of their own sometimes! Beautiful and terrifying, just like the man himself. Also, we finally meet Mad Dog properly. He's an interesting character, for sure. As someone who tried to make a go of reacting to anime myself during covid, with my pregnant wife no less, I can say for a fact that the work can be exhaustive, especially if you have other obligations. I was working long hours and had a baby on the way - and you undoubtedly have your own hardships and responsibilities - and we struggled with just one show at a time, more or less. Reacting, editing, going through copyright clearing, etc? It's a lot The fact that you manage to be SO CONSISTENT with both upload times and *quality* discussion/reactions is really impressive and shouldn't be taken forgranted.
