We rescued her 6 1/2 yrs ago as someone was turning her in to a county kill shelter in FL. I wasn't supposed to be there that day but went with a friend to her dogs tags. I took her to foster her , but we kept her. We have 2 dogs now Baxter who is 12. And Sugar 4 yrs. Old, 5 cats, 2 rabbits. All rescues. God bless you and your dogs!!! Missy is running on heaven now

She keeps growling and she looks like she’s going to bite me. I’ve tried the green treats for the teeth and it hasn’t helped.

    • @miraquarius

@@DianeCrystal Just keep trying, it gets easier and easier, I promise. Try using a VERY SMALL amount of beef or chicken fat instead of coconut oil. Also, she may not be allowing you to brush her teeth because she may have dental pain and she may need to have a dental done by the veterinarian. Trust me, you will get the teeth brushing down! It's just as dangerous for human teeth and its the main ingredient in any arm and hammer human toothpaste (which I've used for over 20 years for myself) just be gentle and don't over use

I use just a tiny bit of the baking soda for my 12 pound Maltipoo. I brush once a week, rinse her mouth out with a dropper of water afterwards, take a smart washcloth and wipe her teeth, and then give her a treat😉. It's been almost 2 years since she had a professional cleaning and her teeth are still tartar free and white. I just found out about the coconut oil and will use it sometimes.

I read that the peppermint essential oil and the parsley (except curly) are dangerous for dogs health
.. could you shed some light on why I might have found that said?

    Hi Dr Jones,
Thank you for sharing with us these tips.
Do you have a raw diet recipe to feeding a 6 year old cat . Will a raw diet help cat with anemia?

Is baking soda & coconut oil safe for cats for teeth brushing? My little man has gingivitis & has sensitive stomach issues when we use pet toothpaste. We've been brushing his teeth with a baby toothbrush and only wetting it with water.

I have seen a recipe with a pinch of cinnamon instead of peppermint oil. Which one do you think is better?
