Most of are not clear about the difference in spicy and hot. Some dishes are hot because of green chillies even though many spices may not been used. So Kashmiri Pandit dishes ARE SPICY but not hot. Because spices are are the main ingredients because there are no onions , tomatoes, garlic , fresh ginger , coriander. So Hot = Green chillie or blk pepper SPICY = may not necessarily be hot....... and that is what Kashmiri Pandit dishes are.
