I remember staying up for the 3OT game against Carolina. I was a junior in high school and had school in the morning. I dragged ass the next day, but it was so worth it.
I agree, however game 7 was unbelievable! My friend and I decided to go out and get some food. As we were waiting in line to get our takeout, my dad called me and said “The Wings are beating them 3 to nothing!!” I couldn’t believe it. We figured we could miss like the first 10-15 minutes because every game was close. As soon as we got our food I was speeding home lol! That game was just perfect.
What people forget is, those players took pay cuts to come to Detroit. The blues offered Hasek around 11 million and offered Buffalo a better trade. Hasek said he wanted to come to Detroit. Brett Hull was offered more money to go to Montreal. Lucky Luc was also offered more money. Lidstrom, Yzerman and Shanny deferred money on their contracts to make room for the Free Agents.
Igor is a awesome person. My dad was a owner operator, he moved VIP’s for a living. We moved Igor 4 times. I met him in 2001-2002. He is a down to earth guy. He gave me a autographed Stick, signed by him. He signed my Larionov jersey. He also gave me a a lot of memorabilia, including a autographed Datsyuk jersey, Stanley Cup Final autographed puck by Datsyuk. He also gave me a Autographed Lidstrom jersey and Stick. He also hooked me up with a autographed Hasek Jersey and Stick. I also moved Steve Yzerman. Stevie hooked me up with autographed Jersey and a Chelly autographed jersey. I got a lot of other memorabilia too. These guys were awesome, very generous and nice people.
I can’t wait until this EXCUSE for a reporter just GOES AWAY. I’ve never seen such bad reporting and general lack of knowledge towards hockey. Typical woman out here ruining the sport. Such a shame. She really needs to find a role elsewhere. She is NOT wanted anywhere near Hockeytown. Real fans know.
