LionWhispererTV's aim is to raise awareness about The Kevin Richardson Wildlife Sanctuary.
One of the things I love the most about "meet the characters" is that Kevin understands the mood of every one of them, and also realizes they can change from one day to the other. They are not any different from us in this sense, and so we should be patient and respectful when interacting with them, no matter what animals we are dealing with.

I believe that is why Kevin is more successful with not only raising his lions but just being with them. He is very knowledgeable, knows the species very well a has tremendous respect for them as lions and not what he expects from them. You hear of many stories when people have tried doing what Kevin does and it doesn’t end well. Recently another man unfortunately got killed by lions he raised from cubs. His name was West Mathewson and he too lived in Africa. I watched some footage and although I have no doubt he loved his lions they just didn’t seem like Kevin’s lions. Kevin is amazing !!!!
@@joany11swatch14 One common issue I note with people who try to have lions or other animals is they try to have too many at once. Then they never spend as much time as is necessary getting to know them well, which is essential for both understanding their moods AND the crucial factor of MAKING YOURSELF IMPORTANT TO THE LIONS. If they develop strong affection for you, the risk is much lower... still there, always, they're simply so much stronger than we are... but it's reduced significantly when you are something they value for affection.
It's similar with house cats. A cat who has a powerful bond with you will be much easier to take care of, even when they're very sick, as they deeply trust you. This was the case with my black cat, Lucky, who had to be put down at age 19 from oral cancer that infested his lower jaw. He was in pain every time he tried to eat, or get pills, but he tolerated so much more than any cat I've ever had before, because I knew him for so long and so well. He only bit a single time, when the medication was having side effects that made him feel very ill. And immediately afterward, he pulled back with a guilty expression and I had to comfort him and let him know it wasn't his fault.
When there was nothing more to do and he had to be put down, he simply leaned against me and looked up into my eyes until he lost consciousness. He seemed to understand it was the end.
The other factor, naturally, is to know which animals are just plain MEAN. We had one tom cat who was just a NASTY piece of work, even though we'd raised him from a kitten. He always attacked the other cats, and only wanted to be pet a certain way on the head... and would growl the instant you touched anywhere else. Suffice to say, no one missed him when he died!
And then there were the two Persians, who were exceedingly neurotic and flighty. And finally, we are left with Sarah, a tuxedo cat who's exceedingly nervous after being rescued from near death on a farm road where I found her with terrible injuries and nearly starved after something had bitten her repeatedly and she's somehow clung to life until the infections became too severe. She trusts more now, after 8 years, but that trauma will be with her for her entire life. For instance, she will not allow fur to grow anywhere the injuries were. She always bites it off and frequently licks the areas obsessively. PTSD.
At 5:09, Delta drops his jaws like "I can't believe you just said that" 🤣🤣🤣

Loved meeting these characters because they’re not often featured. Also love how they each represent the colouring and personalities of the lions 🦁
I love these boys. I was sobbing as soon as I saw the dedication to sweet, Delta. May he be romping with Amy, Ischa, and his other friends in heaven's savanna.
this video was actually posted for the membership over a year ago. apparently delta passed about a year ago as well. always in our hearts
carlabpurdy well I mean this video was made a year ago and posted on the membership channel a year ago but delta died not too long after this video was made... he never went public with deltas death . not to the membership, Instagram, Facebook or anything. I ask why but he doesn’t always talk publicly about the death of some lions because he said “because sometimes the world just doesn’t need to know everything and I need time to myself”
@@jacobcappuccilli5720 So, true. His followers may love these wonderful creatures, but to Kevin, they are his family. I liked the way Amy's passing was handled; she touched so many hearts. We have to respect however long it takes to release this type of news.
Any pet owner knows that though we know our aging pets have time limits, it's still traumatic when they pass. I lost a cat (16) and a dog (15) within two months of each other; it's been two years and I still get teary everyday. I miss them terribly, though we still have three dogs and a cat! Grieving is something that needs time.

What you do is great, and I want you to know there is a special place in heaven for a person like you! I myself am a big cat lover. I own a few cats, but unfortunately where I live in the USA they do not allow certain big cats/exotic animals to be owned as pets or anything along the lines of that. Unless you open a sanctuary or something close to that. And apply for a bunch of permits. I work with small cats. I try to do TNR (trap, neuter, and release). To prevent kittens dying on the streets, and to help prevent overpopulation in my neighborhood and surrounding counties.

Much like with the females they know there is protection and oppertunity in a group.
You can say it is like a boys club.
It is only when they get a chance get with a pride of females is when they will get to fighting to see who gets the girls.

@@oldmangreywolf6892 male lions are misanderstood sometimes. If they have a good relationship with each other they tend to have a life time bond, they do fights sometimes and some are grumpy, (and In this case they are all in contraception) but in the wild tho brothers don't fight over females in heat. with so many lionesses in the pride it's pointless I guess...

The rarity of finding brothers working together is a very rare thing to see.
Yes it can and does happens, but that is what we call exceptions to the rules. Where as the basic norm is one male to a pride.

How wonderful to see 3 beautiful male lions enjoying each other's company, being Mane Men. 🥰🙏❤ What I love most about animals is they are honest in their emotions: there's no deceptions, lies or trickery. Animals have mood swings, but I accept them as they are and have a heart full of love for them. I am soo happy to be a member, thank you Kevin. 🤩

Loved seeing these guys. We don't see them too often. It's so sad to lose an animal friend. I had to have one of my cats put down right after mothers day last year. She was 18 so a good long life. RIP Rascal the cat and Delta the lion :) We miss you guys.
