- A review and playing demo of this wine red Les Paul Deluxe from 1977. My buddy Jimmy was asking about the mini humbuckers and it just so happened that I didn’t have a video review of this guitar yet. It’s a really great guitar with super low action and despite a great deal of divisive opinions on the mini humbuckers,I feel like if you embrace them for what they are, you’ll find they have their own thing going on.
I mention Shut up and play and his channel which I enjoy. His has been modded for full size humbuckers.

Gibson have reissued the Gibson Les Paul Deluxe in Goldtop and Cherry with mini-Humbuckers in March 2021. Available in left and right handed orientation.
They aren’t in Left Handed :/
UK shops are taking pre-orders for Gibson Goldtop lefty deluxes, so they are coming.
I have the same exact guitar. My brother gave it to me for Christmas in 1977 brand new. He brought it from Sam Ash music.

I have a 1981 gibson les paul deluxe that I had emg 81 n 85 into it, tobacco burst...she screams....
Did you route it to allow the full size humbuckers?

@@PhoenixGuitars ya know what's funny about it, so I was persuaded to get the emg 81 and 85 cuz Zack wylde and he runs tha 81 in bridge and 85 in the neck. I was young and didn't really look or know, until years later but the person that done the work put the 85 in the bridge and the 81 in the neck....but it still scream s....
Funny how at the time these were regarded as garbage. Goes to show, that sometimes things become desirable simply because theyre old.
Disagree. A smaller following as can expected but any change Gibson made beyond the coveted burst era was poo poo’d at the time..and now even. They’ve reissued them so there is at least some demand.
