      I'm so, so sorry about your sister. I hope you are able to remember her with some smiles and reminiscences at Christmas this year; it takes an awfully long time for the initial rawness of the pain to subside, doesn't it? Lots of love and best wishes from England.

    Hi Donna, Your channel just came across on my TH-cam. I love love everything you do!🫶🏼! When you mentioned your foraging video I couldn’t wait to see it.
    We are worlds apart in age; I’m 69, I live in south Alabama USA, and a little disabled. However, I still love to forage when I can. I have 3 acres to forage on. The birch trees I have exfoliate their bark, I have pines, I have found abandoned birds nest. But my favorite is I can grow my own Spanish moss.
    But I LOVE YOUR CHANNEL AND YOUR LOVE OF NATURE 🥰❤️🫶 I will keep watching and crafting with you. Thanks again!

      @creartivebynature  ปีที่แล้ว

      WHAT?!?! You can grow your own Spanish Moss?? Wow, that would be awesome!!! I can get sheet moss and reindeer moss, but Spanish moss does grow here.
      Oh that would be a dream to have my own forest to Forage in!!
      I am so glad you enjoyed!!
      Thanks for watching and sharing with me 🤗
      Take care 💖

    I love the idea of foraging nature…..and the fact that the birch tree slipped right out of its perfect white bark, made me squeal with delight and jealousy. Pinecones, moss, lichen, bark, perfect twigs….ahhhhhh Mother Nature is very generous. But. But. Bear tracks, poison Ivy, not to mention spiders and snakes….and heaven only know “who” else is out there (yes, I watch too much Criminal minds, Discovery ID and Forensic Files….) Wherever you live is absolutely beautiful and I applaud and envy you a bit. Loved this. 🤍🤍🤍
    Ok, I’d risk my life for that birch bark….🤍🤍🤍🤎🤎🤎🤍🤍🤍 Staghorn lichen, and carpet moss…..but it is great that you have a trusty, capable, protective MAN boyscout to lead the way, and carry your IKEA bag of precious crafting supplies 🤣🤣

    We just had a big storm with 98 mph winds, so a lot of twigs and small branches blew off of my flowering crabapple tree. I saved some of them because I thought of you! Some had the pretty green lichen on them.

    Hey, I have some tree ornaments. I love that you use as many natural resources to do your crafts. These are pine cone gnomes with birch bark hats and moss beards. The moss hangs out of the trees. I preserve my moss and it's nice and soft. I just can’t seem to put the picture in. Once I figure it out I’ll send it to you. I live in Maine.

    Peaceful video. I wish I could collect moss where I am. Unfortunately, I live near the Pine Barrens, so it's highly illegal to harvest moss because it's all extremely slow growing, endangered Reindeer moss. 😢 but man, I never buy pinecones, nuh-uh!! Hehe. Thanks for the great video.

    I love this video!!! I am from the deep south and I didn't know that there were so many different kinds of pine trees all together like that. Also I have a question. I'm in Florida now and we have the kind of moss that grows on the ground that isn't high above it but is very green and I was wondering if I could forage that and what I would need to do to it?

    • @creartivebynature
      @creartivebynature  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I am so glad you enjoyed!! Without knowing the type of moss, I can't say for sure, sorry. I would make sure that it's in an area that you're allowed to pick, and only pick if there's plenty of it around. Sorry I can't help you further. Feel free to send me a pic via Instagram, I can see if I know the variety 😉

    • @creartivebynature
      @creartivebynature  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I don't go any higher than 250f, but preferably lower.I keep a close eye on it. I would say approx 20 min, but it depends on temp, each oven is different as well 😉
      I'm planning on going foraging again and going more in-depth about preparing our foraged finds for crafting. So definitely keep watch for that 😉

    What temp and how long in oven?

    • @creartivebynature
      @creartivebynature  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It really depends on your oven. If it's a hotter oven go less than 200F, if it's cooler, more than 200F. But no more than 200F!!
      The time again depends, if things are wet it'll take longer. I always suggest keeping an eye on things. After 10 - 15 min check things, it may need more time. I go over it all in this video th-cam.com/video/Noo65LkF_yg/w-d-xo.htmlsi=1rVeiedg3pGz_Ywh😉

    Oh…, in Europe it is forbitten to take even dead things from the nature. The call the landscape is to be renatured or something like this. Of course you may take some pine cones or smaller pieces of wood but it is better to ask the foerster. It’s always better to live in a bigger country😂. Today I took some pieces of thrift wood as the river was very low and I thought they will swim bag when the water rises again and than may be even dangerous, but they told me …no 😡
    The birch bark would be my dream. You can buy some at Amazon for example but they don’t seam to be as great and they are really expensive. You really can be happy. Such nice things! Did you know that you can great fire starters for your fire place when you dip them in candle wax? It looks really nice and it’s also a beautiful present in winter if packed nicely.
    Oh.., I am jealous 😢, such beautiful finds! A few year ago, I often collect rose hips and similar things to create an autumn wreath and the Försters were happy if you took dead things, because they „cleaned“ the forest, but those days are over…, unfortunately…! But of course…, in smaller countries…, if everybody would does it. You know if any walker takes only one apple from a tree, than it will be empty within a few days. Well yes, I understand this😩 and it’s highly forbidden, but Canada is full of nature…. Sooooo nice! Much fun with all that great stuff!💕
