In my experience of building two of these now, the shell holes that the screws go into are completely unthreaded and require a lot of force to screw into leading to stripped screws. On my latest build, I heated my screwdriver up on the stove for about 20 seconds on high and then let the driver sit in the screw for another 20 seconds or so which slightly softened up the the shells holes. This made screwing so much easier and less stressful.
Woah! I didn't experience that with my build. I'm guessing something has changed with manufacturing since the making of this video cause the screws went in with only a little bit of force.
Hey, man! I really want to thank you for your build guide. I watched all the others (big and small) and they glossed over some critical details. Your’s was the most helpful by far. I ended up not using the middle Philips screw on the board because it didn’t appear to fully seat. Seems to be fine. The other part that completely befuddled me was the battery. I kept thinking that the connector had to slide into the female piece and no videos addressed it. They were just, like, “and put in the battery!” So, thanks! My build is working thanks to this vid. Appreciate your efforts.
Hello! I'm glad my video was helpful, I also considered not using that middle screw but figured if I could go slow enough and get it down then I'd just leave it in. I totally agree with the battery part, I probably should have talked about it more in the video to explain that it connects by pressing it down, this was also the first time I've come across that. Good build and update guide. I definitely started at my parts for about 2 mins looking for the start and select button until I realized the membrane is the button. Very spooky build. 🎃
