    Mike! This is a dumb question but every time I watch your show, I always wonder what’s in the bottles by the ironing board? Mustard? Cleaning supplies?
    I also want to thank you for getting us started on books. It has helped my son with school expenses. I appreciate that you’re always inspiring and have great content. Love your show!

      Yeah, cleaning supplies. LOL. Great to hear about the books. People pass them up all the time. I just sold a Bible from my NC trip for $50.

    24:40 Many years ago when I lived in Tampa,, I went to WalMart with a guy I was dating, and he saw a SpongeBob t-shirt. He was telling me his kids loved that show, but it made no sense to him why they would make a cartoon with a character made of Swiss cheese. It's been over 20 years, but every time I see SpongeBob, I think of that dude calling Sponge Bob Swiss Cheese. I asked him what the characters name was and he said, "Sponge Bob." I said, "So he's not Swiss Cheese Bob"? Oh. Took him a few minutes to get it, but he finally figured out that Sponge Bob was a SPONGE.

    Speaking of the saying Keep It Simple Stupid (KISS). I was having a lot of trouble in my college calculus class. I frequently went to the professor's assistant for help. One time I went to the professor and he told me that. He said, "KISS and that means Keep It Simple Stupid." The sad thing is that KISS does not apply to calculus. At least not for me LOL.

    • @goldenstatepicker
      @goldenstatepicker  หลายเดือนก่อน

      It wouldn't apply to me either. That's why I find it KISS when counting money.

    Hi Mike, When you said Cry Baby, my head turned. My 13 year old daughter is a fan of Melanie Martinez and I know some of her records sell for a lot. I just bought four LPs for her birthday. There are a few collector LPs and her perfume that is worth tons that goes for hundreds. Keep an eye out for her other stuff!

    I just had a guy leave me feedback - it was positive, but he said he deducted a rating star because even though his daughter loved the item, he had to pay shipping, and "nobody likes to pay shipping". Was it a surprise? Did you order and then like magic whoosh - you also have to pay shipping? People.

    I had ordered from Amazon. Package was missing though they said it was delivered but offered no photo. Amazon sent the order again, delivered the next day no questions asked. I couldn't imagine how much they lose doing that with so many delivery trucks in and around the neighborhood in a day's time. Now I can see why the retailers gain so little in sales dollars. Resellers are paying for the lost packages.

    I have bought a lot of books from Amazon and the only reason I return them is because they are damaged. I only buy 'New'. They were probably damaged during transport as Amazon does not care about packaging your items correctly.

    I have been gated on Sony for years. Yesterday I checked to see if I could list a Sony VCR. I was allowed to. I never did anything to become ungated. I also checked on and RCA VCR. I was ungated in RCA as well. This could be a big deal. These items sell for much more on Amazon compared to eBay. I just wonder what else I was automatically ungated on. Now I have to be very careful when cross listing on eBay and Amazon. I got dinged twice, because I forgot to take the listing down on eBay after selling it on Amazon. It dropped my rating down to Above Standard, and eBay is not fast to clear the dings. It could take six months to a year to clear this up.

    Hi Mike, I had a question maybe you had some insight for, I have followed your guide from a ywar ago about Amazon FBA, but when I went on scanlister to start listing about half of the books are requiring me to request approval and submit an invoice with 10 units from the last 6 months, I had been sourcing from thrift stores so obviously do not have that, do you have any insights about this issue? I had been expecting to be blocked on some items, but this stuff is like mass market paperbacks and hardcovers from years ago, not textbooks or medical stuff.

    • @goldenstatepicker
      @goldenstatepicker  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Even I get these blocks sometimes. They go through these ups and downs with their algorithm. I find that I get mostly blocked on text books. Have you been doing FBA LONG? Sometimes it takes them time to see that you are a serious seller before they MYSTERIOUSLY unblock you from some books. Are you using SCOUTIQ? That has a option in the settings to show you if you are blocked on a book before you buy it.

    • @loganwolff5028
      @loganwolff5028 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@goldenstatepicker Thanks for the fast reply! No Im new to FBA, so maybe thats the issue; I didnt realize that I could set scout up like that, I will have to switch. Good to know that sometimes they change their minds on these approvals, I will just have to save the inventory and hope for the best!

  • @RetiredGoodtimes
    @RetiredGoodtimes หลายเดือนก่อน

    I sell everything FBM on Amazon. I do not try and sell a lot lower than FBA. I don't know why people would want to do that. I really can't sell FBA. The things I sell on Amazon would be quite expensive to ship to Amazon to sell.

    Since you have a good platform and lots of people watch you... you should make a video or at least discuss the topic of voting this year and the ramifications of what happens for people that have businesses or enjoy selling online. I don't think very often resellers take voting seriously. But if Harris gets in office and starts implementing everything she's talked about, besides America coming to its knees, reselling will be hard as hell with 2 hands tied behind our backs. They need to understand what happens when she forces stores, businesses, people in general to set certain prices on their items, saying she's going to stop "price gouging." This isn't price gouging, it's America, and for the time being we have capitalism, and we like it. Everyone that wants to work hard, makes money. If the government is allowed to dictate the price of items, besides turning us into a socialist country, it's going to kill us resellers. And if you think that won't be carried over to online, you're delusional. Look what happened during the pandemic! They say you can't sell toilet paper for more than xxx and Ebay enforced those rules. My point is that people need to understand just how much our freedom and our livelihood is on the line with this very election. So I think talking about the facts now, is important for anyone with a platform! I hope you will get the word out!

      I have dropped the hint many times. I live in her state. Think about this......Pelosi, Harris and Newsom. The triplets that have tore CA apart. People need to look at what my state has become and ask do you really want those three helping run the whole country. Scary times.
