Cus he has no background in grappling . Most strikers (Adesanya, Holloway, O'Malley, Pavlovich, Edwards, etc) don't have cauliflower ears.

@@arman_llc624 not saying it can't happen in a sport like boxing or rugby, but it's much more prevent in grappling sports like Judo، BJJ and wrestling. Surprisingly a lot of Muay Thai athletes have it as well which I'm guessing is due to its extensive clinches and elbow strikes.
The punches in boxing don't produce the pressure to cause hematoma relative to something like a BJJ headlock or being slammed on the mat.
Also boxers tend to drain the cauliflower if they ever get it since they don't like the fact that it ruins your facial aesthetics. Meanwhile it's a cultural thing among grappling sports which symbolizes your dedication to the sport
