I had the pleasure to visit once and it was simply beyond words! The performances were amazing, the outfits stunning, the people very friendly, the conversation was so good (the performer who came to our table was fluent in 4 languages wow...) and the vibe was just splendid. Highly recommend!
Wow, Kagoshima has more going on than I realized but I was only there for three days and one of those days I was driving down to Cape Sata. The show reminds me of Portland since we have the longest-running drag show on the West Coast at Darcelle's.
Thanks! Hoping to show that there is a much more nuanced side to Kagoshima than you might see in regular travel pieces that only seem to focus on the major tourist spots. Hopefully visitors to the region might be able to meet the people featured here and have a chat about their videos! Plenty more interesting folks coming up in the next few months!
We have similar bars in Montreal, though the obvious Japanese influence really gives it a unique flavor, I'd be really interested to visit it! They're always a very fun experience in my book, even straight and cis people end up with a smile on their face after a visit (as long as they can keep an open mind) I wish a very long life on this establishment! ❤
I have gone to similar clubs in Montreal too! 🇨🇦 My best friend in 1980 was a trans male who ended up dancing in revues with 2 other people from Montreal, but they moved to Toronto to perform. Michel/Michelle was 7 feet tall; I lost touch when I got married and moved from Toronto to Northern Ontario.
What a colourful bunch of characters, putting on an excellent show. Good to see. "Don't think so hard..." - something the modern World really needs to take on board! Thanks for sharing their story :)
Some cosmetics companies need to send PR kits here. They're such a delightful group of people; from what I've seen, this is such a wonderful and safe place to be. I'd be interested in visiting, if I ever get my dream trip to Japan; my Son promised to take me, then the pandemic hit. Of course I'd like to see some of the touristy type things, but I mostly want unique experiences. My heart is saddened by the fact that people who are part of the LGBTQ+ community but cannot be their authentic selves, have the need to hide it. We all need to be accepting of people, whatever "umbrella" term they fall under. I grew up with many trans and queer folx as friends in the 1980's and have always been there to support them and uplift them. I really want to visit here with my Son. Such an incredible amount of joy is contained here! Sending you my love and best wishes, from Canada 🇨🇦 💖 Thanks for sharing this! I'll be subscribing

Not the most traditionally Japanese experience we have introduced so far, but certainly a fun night out with some friendly people.

That's so cool, I wish I had visited there when I was living nearby Kagoshima! Hopefully I can visit again soon 🖤
Thank you for another great video

Well said! Having fun and being yourself is sometimes hard to do, but definitely one of the most important things in life.
