      It’s lovely stuff. I think it’s probably better for setting up special encounters rather than trying to create complete dungeons or massive buildings as it’s a lot to buy and paint otherwise, but when you really want to create an immersive environment with some visual punch it’s hard to beat. It’s perfect for me with things like Rangers of Shadow Deep as well.

    Love the video just wish everyone doing future videos can skip the clipping part by now everyone should know about Dungeons and lasers terrain and all the clipping that comes with it lol. Best parts are the set up and painting keep up the great work 👍

      It’s really important for me to show what assembling the kits entails, especially when it’s a sponsored video. And as this is a retail product rather than a Kickstarter I have to assume some of the people watching will be thinking of buying this with no prior knowledge of what it is.

    With the sculpting and colour if you didn’t want to paint it. You could probably get away with just a wash

      Yeah it doesn’t take much to make them look even better, and just bringing out the textured details would do a lot.

    Is there anything that’s like this but full height walls? I was hoping Dwarven Forge would have something like this come out. They had it in prepainted resin back in the day but never made the full indoors set in their plastic. DW has the city set, but making a nice indoors is problematic with them.
    As is, I still might pick this up. It looks great and is mostly what I want.

      Most of the newer sets are half-height walls, but Dungeons and Lasers do have some full-height sets. Sets with full-height walls include the Tudor Mansion, Castle, Fantasy Starter Set, Sewer, and Lava Caverns.

      Lots of great stuff in this range. I could probably make a small corner of a city now, complete with sewers leading to a monster’s dungeon lair.

    Hi loving these sets where in the uk can you get these products.

    • @AlwaysBoardNeverBoring

      You can buy them direct from Archon as they do ship to the UK (link in video description), but sets are also available from several local retailers. Spiral Galaxy Games was recently added as a distributor for the UK, and you can shop at places like Firestorm Games and Zatu Games. City of Absalom is brand new, so I think most stockists are awaiting stock, but check with your favourite retailers to see if they are going to get some in.

      No worries. The Pathfinder sets never went through crowdfunding - they are retail only. However, the most recent Archon Studio Gamefound campaign for Dungeons and Lasers Encounters is still taking late pledges and some of the older dungeon and room sets are available as add-on purchases. Might be worth checking out to see if it's possible to put together a package of the things you are most interested in.

      If you go to games Exo in Birmingham NEC Archon have a booth where you can pick stuff up as well. I Got the Abomination set for £40.

    The floor looks pretty much like the dungeons and lasers wood set. I guess it's the same mold.

    • @AlwaysBoardNeverBoring
      @AlwaysBoardNeverBoring  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think it’s a unique floor pattern. I will have to compare it to sets like the cottage to check.

      I don't have a set of the Wooden Cottage, but have now compared Absalom to online images and it looks like the wooden floor pattern is the same on those two sets. Obviously the rest of the sprue is different, but it does mean if you have the cottage already you will have even more nicely matching floor tiles for your room layouts. The only other set I have with wooden floors is the Tudor Mansion, and those floor tiles are different.

    I will reserve judgement until it's painted up, but I'm not much for the half height walls in combination with windows and doors. I understand why they exist, but the look of the entire thing is the main point of bothering with stuff like this.

    • @AlwaysBoardNeverBoring
      @AlwaysBoardNeverBoring  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I understand that perspective although I think it looks fine. D&L do have full height walls for people who prefer them. I think both heights have their strengths.
      The painting video should happen relatively soon.

    Some of those bits are from the fantasy starter which disappoints me a little.

      I don't have that set to compare, but I just had a quick look online, and it looks like you are right that some of the props are reused - the books, scrolls, chest, and barrel. On the plus side, most of that is pretty useful in large amounts. Barrels in particular I think I could always use more of! The floor tiles reuse the floor pattern from the wooden cottage set
