    Great tool to have with the EGO Multi-Tool. For extra safety when using in reverse mode, I remove the locking bolt on the guard and raised it away from the rubber paddle so that I can turn the guard in any direction to prevent projectile objects coming towards me. In winter time, I leave this unit inside by the up stair balcony than carrying the single stage snow blower up and down or manually shoal the build up snow during heavy snowing days. Works great for the spring cleaning as well for my corner house to remove sand stones from the sand truck and dead grass clips.

    Nice! Looks like it could be a game-changer for your cleanups. I'd be interested to hear what kind of run time you can get on the Power Head using power settings #1 and #2 respectively in terms of Amp-hour draw per 30 minutes, and what forms of use cases other than dethatching you find for it.
    The fact that the Ego Power+ platform was missing cultivator and bristle brush attachments for the PH1400 Power Head until just recently was a major reason I was entertaining the thought of buying into Husqvarna / Stihl / Echo's power head + attachment platforms instead. I'd still really like to see Ego add a rubber paddle broom attachment for the power head, like the ones in the aforementioned competitor platforms. There are a whole host of use cases for such a tool:
    1) Mulch job cleanups
    2) Spring cleanups of plow damage and over-push along gravel driveways
    3) Mast cleanup for items such as acorns, hickory nuts, and pine cones
    4) Wood chip / sawdust cleanup after tree trimming / removal
    5) Light snow removal, eliminating shovel scratches on porches
    ... just to name a few. The biggest in my area (Michigan) would be item #2 above.

      Ego does have a rubber paddle in the works should be out shortly I believe it was mentioned in one of their trade show videos, I might pick one up for snow/cleanups but this broom works really well, I am pretty surprised. I think I can get some good run time out of this, I'll keep you posted! I'm up to 9 ego batteries now and even though there are some initial annoyances with electric tools like how you need after market blades and the auto walk function is jenky I'm going to make as much money with this stuff as I can, and I'm really not that upset with the whole situation have tree job tomorrow with the chainsaw and 2 cleanups I'm trying to fit in in the next 2 days before I believe it will snow.. things are quite good for small/mid size commercial applications. will be using this brush a lot in the winter on walkways, though I'd probably prefer the rubble paddle from what I've seen, more aggressive in dealing with caked on ice.

    I've seen some folks make a cart style apparatus with wheel for these to make them easier on the arms and to move. Do you know of this? Not sure if ego sells something similar as an accessory or there is a sort of universal type attachment for these.

      it does a pretty good job dethatching, not as good as actual dethatchers, but it has a lot more applications. So short answer yes. I've been using this tool for spring clean ups and light dethatching every day for the past 2 weeks. if you're going to buy it primarly for detaching you might want to consider an actual dethatcher as its heavy and can be tough to use for prolonged periods.

    Can't you do the same thing with a lawnmower? And that bags at the same time! It doesn't get the brushing effect, however. I can see how this scrubs the dead grass from the lawn.

    • @woodrobin
      @woodrobin 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Even a mulching mower with strong air circulation or a leaf-blower with good flow rate isn't going to get in there good and deep and de-thatch the lawn. You can do it with the right kind of rake, but I'd much rather use this and save myself the time and the blisters.
