History of Othello Washington from about 1880 thru about 1960.

Othello's history starts with the homesteaders. The train came in 1908 and phased out in about 1960. The Grand Coulee Dam brought irrigation to the Basin creating a farm-based community and bringing large scale food processors such as McCain who process McDonald's french fries.

My family (Finkbeiner) were founding members of this community (and Connell) and homesteaded the area before Othello was even there, and grandpa was mayor at one time in O-Town-I love hearing these stories; thanks for sharing.

At 8:18 text says "Looking South on First Street." Actually, it looks like looking West on Main... Peoples Bank is on the right and Phillips 66 is on the left. These were on the corner of 1st and Main looking West.
