    Shouldn't the second goal have been taken off due to goalie interference? Is that not a penalty in college soccer?

      @GreedyLittleFokker ปีที่แล้ว

      @@josephkaravedas9094 What do you mean "no one calling for a foul"? NC GK immediately protested about being body-checked into the net. If you're referring to the TV commentator, that was Julie Foudy who was at Stanford when UNC was in the midst of its 9-straight national title run, so probably holds a grudge about being in Mia Hamm's shadow.

    • @andersonsmith979
      @andersonsmith979 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@josephkaravedas9094 Since this is the second time you've made basically the same remark: "attackers are entitled to space too..." I don't think the attacker is entitled to the same space that is ALREADY occupied by the goalie. The Blue number 15 clearly backs the goalie out of position and out of the play. Even in American Football, you can't go through the other player to contest a pass. It's interference there and ought to have been called here, in my opinion.
      And as it happens, there are rules against Impeding an opponent: "if a player stands in front of the goalkeeper on a corner kick, and then moves to prevent the goalkeeper getting around them, this should be called as impeding." AND there are rules against impeding an opponent without contact, so your comments about no shove, no extension for a shove are irrelevant. And in my own opinion, there was basis for a call that number 15 physically moved the goalie, regardless of your opinion. No goal. Yellow Card and free kick by the goalie. You Yanks don't really know everything that you imagine that you do. Certainly not about Football.

    The referee (a California native - what a surprise) totally blew the game. #15 for UCLA shoved the North Carolina GK into the net on the tying corner (1:53). Final score should have been North Carolina 2, UCLA 1. The only reason it wasn't was this incompetent ref.

    UCLA’s 2nd goal was a foul on the goal keeper

  • @andersonsmith979
    @andersonsmith979 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    At about 2:00. I wasn't aware that the team making the corner kick could be in so close to the goal. The Blue Team's number 15 moved the White Team's goalie back within the goal and out of the play. If not straight interference, she could have been called for Impeding, (" if a player stands in front of the goalkeeper on a corner kick, and then moves to prevent the goalkeeper getting around them, this should be called as impeding."), the goalie's ability to contest the kick. Why not just tackle the goalie if this is to be allowed? Might just as well make it like American Football! :D

    • @hattershouse710
      @hattershouse710 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't like that logic, here's why. Every player is entitled to everywhere on the field. When a player has the ball they can turn their back and use their body as a shield, essentially blocking out the defender simialr to how players do this in basketball when going for a rebound. You are allowed to get in front of someone and block their path, that is not a foul and should never be a foul. This includes goalies and cornerkicks. If you are at a spot first and the goalie wants to get in front of that spot, should they be allowed to run you over to get there? No and the rule is as such. Therefore you would essentially be saying that this rule would be abolished and that the goalie has free reign in the box to run over anyone in their way to go for the ball. Now if the goalie has a clear path to the ball and is interefered with, that would be a foul. The keywords are clear path. If the path is "impeded" as you say by a player blocking out the goalie, well then the goalie will just have to work around that or another player from that team will have to try the same tactic to the opposing team's player.
