Bruckner's symphonies are absolute masterpieces- I didn't understand his music at first, I had to come back to it, being unwilling to deal with symphonic structure that wasn't in perfect sonata form. Boy, did I have a lot to learn!! He belongs in the line that starts with Mozart and ends with Mahler and Sibelius. Shostakovich extended the symphonic genius into to the 20th century, and we are all totally lucky and blessed for it. BRAVO BRAVO MAGNIFIQUE ♥️♥️♥️🙏🙏
In fact, Bruckner completed most of the finale . leaving only th climax unfinished . There have been a number of different attempts to prepare a completion , the best known one being by the American musicologist William Carragan , and this and others have been recorded a number of times . The music which does survive of the finale is extraordinary , and. no one who loves Bruckner should avoid hearing it .
I don't think that Bruckner's 9th is unfinished. After the finale of the 8th, there could not be a further one. The attempts to write a final movement for the 9th based on the sketches altogether failed.

Such a beautiful work, thanks.
Say what you want about Wagner's political beliefs, one must concede that his neckbeard is one of the towering achievements of Western civilisation.
