Every time I see a Genesis on the road, I turn my head for a second look. My neighbor just got the sedan and wow, it's a beauty. Seeing the positive reviews for its performance and bells and whistles, as well, so I'm leaning towards GV80 or another by Hyundai as my next car.
Finally saw one in the wild yesterday, and hot damn, it's a beautiful car in real life. Was not a big fan of the facade before, but seeing it in real life, it's a head turner for sure.

No Infiniti is more sporty and aggressive they put driving dynamics before luxury. Drive the older G35 or M35 there not the nicest inside in terms of luxury but the way they drive makes up for it and at a cheaper price than the competition. That was Infiniti back in the day the GV80 is more like a Lexus putting Luxury and refinement first before sporty driving dynamics
I own a palisade limited 2021. The vehicle has tragic build quality. Please watch videos on my channel for more details. Horrible odors comes out of through the the cabin. The roof, rattles constantly when I am driving. It is extremely anoying. There is too much plastic throughout the entire cabin of the palisade limited. Everytime I go over a bump or a rock. I could hear all the plastic in the cabin making a loud squeaking noise. My experience with the palisade has been Horrible. This is actually my second palisade. I am extremely disappointed in the build quality of the palisade. I wanted to buy the Gv80. By with my experience with the palisade. I think I will look some where else. Land Rover discovery, gle, x5, aviator, or q7.j
I Like that Genesis exists because they are going to put a ton of pressure on Lexus which has gotten very lazy recently and they definitely need to up their game. Infiniti was a phenomenal brand but they are extremely close to falling off and are in desperate need of a refreshed lineup.
If they don't fix their engine fires, they'll literally be killing people. No joke. I wouldn't buy one, I don't care how nice the seats are. Plus, it's still a Kia/Hyundai underneath.
Nissan can't they having some financial issues. Hyundai owns Kia and Genesis plus they hire car designer from Audi his name is Peter Schreyer. They also hire a BMW engineer to improve their handling.

But at least Hyundai is dealing with the issues and dumping those engines from future cars, meanwhile Nissan’s CVT reliability has hardly improved over the last 20 years yet they continue to put it in their cars. If you discount the Theta II engines, Hyundai’s reliability has been far above Nissan in the last 15 years especially their cars made between 2003-2010.
I remember when the Lexus and Infiniti brands were launched.... Infiniti had such a cool identity, was so unique, I thought it would be the bigger success. Now it's just a sad lost brand.
Great review as always from Micah. It seems that the sweet spot in value in this is not tarting it up with pricey options like the big engine, AWD, fancy suspension, etc. Keep it simple.

Seems many don't understand vehicle safety. Absorbing crash energy without the _passenger compartment_ crushing an occupant is what a good car is _supposed_ to do. He's lucky to have just leg injuries after a rolling high speed crash.
Mercedes has an option for everything. Not much comes standard, anything you want extra you pay extra. I’m stuck between the GLC43 and the GV70 fully loaded but genesis has a lot more standard, 3 year complimentary maintenance and 10yr powertrain, not that I would keep it that long.
Their very first sedan, Hyundai Genesis, had the Mercedes type design also. Hyundai hired away design & mechanical engineers from Mercedes, Bentley & Audi.
Hyundai and Kia are going to take over both commercial and luxury car segments. They continue to make some of the most compelling vehicles on the road today. Super excited for the GV70 to be officially released.
I cant be any more satisfied with our purchase. I got the v6 AWD drivetrain for my wife. Ride quality is gloriously magnificent, does not lose to any other luxury brands in this category, feels as if I am riding through clouds instead of hard asphalt road. Inside cabin is simple and yet refined and elegant - I much prefer this over some other makers' cluttered panels. Lastly, I notice many people doing double takes of this car. I am mightily pleased with the design - those on the design team (interior as well as exterior), along with the chassis and drivetrain team definitely nailed this one. I am also looking to purchase gv70 for myself as I prefer smaller vehicle when it comes out.
I came here after hearing that the car saved Tiger’s life... says the interior of the car was more or less intact which gave him the cushion to survive what otherwise would've been a fatal crash. hadn’t known much about the car before but it’s definitely caught my interest now

The car is great but I don’t recommend it. I was considering it and went to inquire. I was told upfront that they are selling the car 15k over the sticker price because it is in demand. This is in New York at least. Leasing options are even bad. 1500/month for the base model. You can get a Range Rover for way lesser. Don’t fall for the msrp. It’s really misleading.
Pretty normal for a dealer to add a markup on a vehicle in high demand. And your payment is based on your interest rate and down payment. So that’s a personal issue for you
Here in Detroit they are selling at around sticker price. Demand for these is fairly high here too, but domestic brands always dominate since this is the "Motor City", so if you want a good deal on something foreign, come here and take a road trip back home with it lol.

So it’s not a personal issue. I already own a Volvo XC90 and have never experienced such unfair pricing. I just wanted to share my experience. .

Is the brake issue something that can be adjusted via a software update or is it mechanical? Hard to know anymore what’s a physical vs electronic connection.
Depending on how broken in the car is can affect the braking. Brand new cars can have a mushy feel for the first few hundred miles as they break-in. If the car has a lot of demo miles on it the brakes could be worn out.

Beware of the dealership, I like the Genesis, we bought one. But the dealers don't know how to sell luxury vehicles. they sold us additional 2 years service contracts and we did not need to buy it. I can go on and on... just look somewhere else...

The warranty is whatever you reach first, the mileage or the years. This is only if the car is in a person’s name. If you put it in a business name, the Hyundai warranty is half that.

Quick gist, I use a range of terms to keep these videos from sounding repetitive.

@@fadhly5192 I’d say Cadillac and Lincoln are doing better than the ones mentioned from Japan and I’d say Buick is more of an elevated brand that isn’t full luxury with prices to match!
@@eniolafolorunso1095 be patient. I guarantee once the dealer network is fixed it’s then over for Lexus. Genesis already beats Lexus and the Koreans beat Toyota anyway. No wonder why not a single journalist or person says Toyota or Lexus are recommendable.

Palm Springs Hyundai has several of these and the G80 sedans...right next to Mercedes.. Genesis looks way better. Theyre gorgeous in person. Now if Genesis would only come out with their own dealerships.....

I hit thumbs down as soon as he used the term "Architecture" to refer to a car. As an architect, i do not refer to structural steel as a "Chassis". He was trying to sound cool... sounds stupid.

'Vehicle Architecture' is completely common terminology in the automotive world. If that doesn't work for you, consider Merriam Webster, which includes the following definition "a unifying or coherent form or structure". That definitely applies in this case. Quick gist, I use a range of terms to keep these videos from sounding repetitive.
