NOTES! These reactions are actually from 2020! I'm just now editing them (was having copyright issues at the time). I start Season 2 of Vinland Saga this Friday on Patreon for anyone who wants to join me!!!! (All of season 1 is on there too!) I was so much calmer here lol but look how blank the background is here :O It's so lacking in pink!!! SHOCK!!! Enjoy!!!
As far as historical series go VS is among the most accurate ones from what I have seen. The mangaka actually traveled to Scandinavia to research the setting. Of course he takes the creative freedom to fill any blanks in historical record with the coolest plausible thing that could have happened, but otherwise the show is pretty on point. The architecture, clothing and even everyday Viking utensils are consistently praised. The dates are right. And yes you’ll be seeing many real historical figures here. Leif Erikson in this episode is the guy who actually discovered America half a century before Columbus. You see him in the episode meeting with native americans. What he calls “Vinland” is actually a region in Canada.
The anime series director is a huge fan of the source material, and also the primary driving force behind the fact that we got a S2. Also he should have won every single director related award in 2019 for Vinland Saga, same for 2023 with S2 of the series.

I have never seen a show anywhere present a thesis and stick to it _so firmly and closely._ I'm so excited to see you react to another GOAT anime!

Ohohohoho you are in for a freaking masterpiece with this one.
I've only ever read the manga so it'll be really cool getting to see some of the animation along with your reactions
