    If you ever need to clone Lord Coake, might I suggest numbering the clones, starting with Coake Zero.

    Savagerifts allowed me to convert Robotech to Savage Worlds. There are so many amazing Playdium World settings, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comes to mind, all of them are easy to drop in using Savage rifts as a base.

    I'm not being rule lawery, but I wanted to point out that Pinnacle has suggested allowing Boost Trait to be used even if the skill roll is longer duration. I love Savage Worlds and don't want people watching your video to come away with the impression that the spells are only good for combat and then turn their noses up to it. From the Fantasy Companion for SWADE:
    "Spells like boost Trait last only five
    rounds; little use for something
    like boosting Survival for a scout
    attempting to lead their party through
    the mountains.
    For long-term tasks, allow spellcasters
    to use their powers anyway, assuming
    they’re able to boost Traits, grant
    relief, or provide protection at critical
    moments along the way."
    Again your table your rules, so play how it's fun for you. Just pointing out there are other options for the casual viewer of Savage Worlds. There are also the Ritual rules in Savage Rifts that allow power durations to be drastically increased.
    I hope my posts don't come across poorly, just trying to point out information

    The castle is in Northern Arkansas very close to the Missouri border. They ran out of money I believe so it's more like "were building," at any rate it's been closed for nearly a decade at this point.

    Long time fan of the Rifts setting. Recently bought all the Savage Rifts books so am looking forward to playing this with my friends.
    There has been a big learning curve for my players trying to understand the overwhelming power level that Rifts characters start at lol.

      I found the same thing with trying to run Savage Rifts (with the players learning, both, a new game and their complex characters, at the same time), but after a couple of sessions, the players are handling their PCs like pros (it helped that I was running Deadlands, separately, which helped me get more comfortable with the core mechanics of Savage Worlds Adventure Edition).

    • @zionich
      @zionich 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@DungeonMusings That is what I am thinking. Deadlands or just core Adventures Edition in a homebrew setting to get use to the base rules.
      Great to hear that they picked it up fast and are pros now 😊

      Yeah, I think there were a lot of us that starting playing Savage Worlds because of Savage Rifts and we quickly learnt that Savage Rifts was like jumping into the deep end compared to other settings. But, we stuck it out and now understand things well.

      I started with Palladium. Absolutely atrocious and broken system. Borderline unplayable.
      However, the settings are fantastic. I'm so glad this was converted to Savage Worlds.

    • @d.t.bigley7254
      @d.t.bigley7254 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I still access the original Palladium books often, even though we now use SWADE Savage Rifts. The old books are jam packed with lore, reading and pictures. Invaluable resources, considering the new books are far more distilled and are more rules focused with far less fluff.

    • @andrewmacdonald1749
      @andrewmacdonald1749 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for awesome actual play. Real soft spot for Rifts. Still love the original (though rules were "not great"). I think I will use my (many) original books for art as I feel the original art work is generally of a higher quality than the Savage Worlds version.

    If you want to go "Old School", whatever you think of Siembieda, this as old school as you can get. The system of Palladium Fantasy and Rifts has not changed. I am not talking about Savage Worlds, but the Rifts and Palladium Fantasy setting that is still available. As Kev has mentioned on Discord, yeah the old version is bit more rocky.

    • @DungeonMusings
      @DungeonMusings  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The mechanics can be daunting, regardless of ehat Palladium adherents say. The setting though, is FANTASTIC!!!! The World Books make my head swim with the joy of imagination!

    I absolutely love Savage Worlds Rifts. If you decide to run it again I would highly recommend fantasy grounds. They’re putting out Savage Worlds Rifts supplements now, and the automation helps keep the game running very smooth its great. Good video I enjoyed it

    I love your GMing and the roleplay from the players...VERY good session.
    Also wanted to point out the Critical Fail rules needs natural 1s on the dice not double 1s after applying penalties (Though when it comes to shorting powers that would be how it would work I believe, but that's a specific rule). That said it was a fun scene navigating the leystorm because of it.

      Ha ha, yeah the overland travel rules really make it clear why most folks either walk or use living mounts. I expect things will go smoother once the guys actually train in Repair and Piloting. :)

    Great stuff Kevin and company. Seems like Savage Rifts has a lot of what made the original so wacky and fun. Can’t wait for the next instalment. Hopefully Brent stops crit-failing every roll.

    • @DungeonMusings
      @DungeonMusings  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thanks, Phillip, I totally agree that the Savage Worlds conversion of Rifts does a fantastic job of capturing the wildness of the original setting. We will be back to Rifts on Saturday March 20th (hopefully, with some better dice rolls from Brent). :)

      Roll20. They have two different sheets for Savage Worlds; this one and an "official" one. If you want to give Roll20 a try, I would recommend the official one, which has a number of improvements over this one.

    It looks like you’re running this with a Roll20 compendium/adventure. Looking at their marketplace I don’t see the RIFTS ruleset for Roll20. Did you create this material yourself?

    • @DungeonMusings
      @DungeonMusings  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Roll20 has a Savage Worlds character sheet that we were using in these sessions, and many of the images we used are from the Savage Rifts rulebooks, but the adventure is all my own.
