Frank is THE BEST. Every time I've met anyone whose met him, they always have some story about how he's taken the time out to have a genuine interaction with them. He's somehow a total rockstar ... at the same time completely humble ...all while being the best comic artist on planet Earth. Really happy to see Scotland embracing him...documentaries...cooking shows...hotels...whiskey bottles...album covers...museum exhibits...can't wait to see what he gets into next.
Another fantastic conversation. I've loved Frank Quitely's art since New X-Men. The Flex Mentallo mini-series he did was amazing, too. Now we have issue 1 of The Ambassadors and it's stunning work yet again. If you haven't picked up a copy, I recommend it.
What a treat to have Hitch & Frank right in a row. I’d love a nice focused say 10-15 minutes on 2000 AD when next you have a guest to do with them, say Peter Milligan, Pat Mills, Mick MacMahon (yes!), Simon Bisley, Glenn Fabry would be excellent guests!
This one was great! Those drunken/crazed anecdotes had me in stitches multiple times. Really loving the channel Mark, thanks. Just a few random wishlist suggestions for possible-future guests (if you can get them): Elliot Maggin, Mark Waid, Jonathan Hickman, Paul Kupperberg.
WOW! LOL! Will Eisner and his team thought Superman was too silly of an idea and he passed on publishing them? Interesting that Quitely mentions, I'm assuming, that Eisner noticed that Siegel and Shuster were enthusiastic about their idea.
The Big Book of the Unexplained by Paradox Press was my first exposure to Frank Quitely's work. That series fees like it has fallen down the memory hole. Every book had an amazing roster of talent. The phrase "Too small for HUMAN butts!" is something that I now forever associate with Quitely haha.
that comment re EC comics aging out is interesting - but I have come across younger people who just love the bizarre nature of the covers, I'm one of them. I wasn't around anywhere close to the time of EC but the covers with women in spacesuits with exposed skin on the arms etc. fighting dinosaurs on far away planets can have timeless value if marketed right I think.....but the overall point of some p[roerties aging out is a good one.
I actually think there already is a resurgence in interest in that material due to the Fantagraphics reprints and people discovering the artists through shows like Cartoonist Kayfabe, etc.
I love that he doesn’t know which Robin he was drawing. Awesome artist.
and they both still got it wrong haha

Got to meet him once and I agree, Frank's a great artist and a very kind human being!
I attended Fan Expo one of the years that Quitely was there, and found him to be a great guy. Such a massive inspiration he is to me and my art.
Big ups Frank Quitely 😎👍
A Matthew Vaughn interview would be interesting! (This one was such a pleasure, FQ is so chill.)
"the dafties table" LOL!!
love hearing 2 of my own fellow Weegies telling stories of the glitz and glamour of Hollywood and them causing chaos.
Remember i first saw his work on Authority and was blown away from the European and American mix it had and been following his work ever since
A Genius is the only way to describe Frank Quietly's work! Superb talent! Great interview. Thanks
Amazing to get a glimpse into the life two great artists have shared with each other. The modesty is very refreshing. Loving this TH-cam channel.

My first time seeing frank's work was on the BITE CLUB miniseries for vertigo. Been a big fan ever since.

Quitely a frank, when are you getting Jorge Jimenez on the screen,
Oh man, this whole interview is unintelligible! I could understand Chinese better than this! Love it! 😂😂
As Glaswegians go, they are pretty comprehensible.
I feel my Scottish roots come out when I watch you
I feel like with this episode I've had to go from beginner to intermediate level at understanding a Scottish accent.
Crisis Claremont 💯❤️
Man, who is that?
So, when's the John McShane interview?
Mark Millar: Are you friends now with Grant Morrison ? Can you interview him too ?
Morrison has a grudge againat him from what i heard
@Overlord69 don't know. There was chats shown recently they were praising each others work
@@MrODIE1972It’d be great if they squashed the beef & get to work together again.
@TopDrawer agreed. Interesting when was said that in year 2000 they nearly had a Wildstorm imprint together !
idk...Grant said that Mark has been great disappoint as a human being. Hardly you can get over that.
Just to throw it out there I am a hypnotherapist. 😀.
I miss AKA, best comic shop ever.

When Titans united
