I’m now an old soul. Just an old man living in what I call, The Birds Nest. A one bedroom flat on the second level with on old willow outside my bedroom window. It is a gathering place for the chickadees, Junkos, Scrub Jays and Starlings. They meet all at once, almost as if by appointment, intently picking and grooming the trunk and swinging from the whispy branchs and then all flitting away as if they had to pick the kids up from school. . In the summer it lushes to deep green, cleansing and oxenating the summer breeze before it enters my bedroom window. I’m happy to have discovered your videos. They are as calming as soft jazz and I thank you for them. Please contiue and thank you for being genuinely you.

Your breakfast looked so delicious. I'm really glad I found your channel. I have been an old soul my whole life, and have always had trouble fitting in with the modern world and with how most people think, or view life. Even now, at my age, when I'm at work I often feel awkward and like I don't fit in. Lots of times I end up just listening while other people talk. Luckily, I am home most of the time homeschooling my children (huge amout of work lol) and just hiding at home enjoying my family and my animals.

Someone told me once the best way to get someone to listen to you is to speak softly, whisper, not yell. To speak gently not over or brash. You are proof of that concept to be true. I did it with my girls when they were little (now all grown up) and now I'm doing it with my grandsons. How do you know which nuts, berries and flowers are edible and which are not? How do you know what to forage for and where? Do you have fruit trees around you? Maybe you should plant a few along with potted herbs on your patio, black berries, blue berries, raspberries, even strawberries!
That's what I have to tell my parents and brother sometimes. They don't always have the peace or patience to listen, but I'll keep trying to help them.

First, I love Huckleberry jam. Impossible to find in Florida. I have to order it so I ask for it for birthdays and holidays. I've never had a fresh one!! Second, what was that little nut or berry at the end that had to be unwrapped like a tiny gift from a friendly fairy. It was so pretty! Third, "old soul" is what I most enjoy being called and am happiest when I find others who are like minded or just being alone with my feline friends. Finally, I am in awe of the beauty you share in every video. Wow! Watching how you use things from the earth and the appreciation you have for nature. It stirs up many desires in my own heart. I have always loved being outdoors. As I child I would make things out of things in nature. But my parents and the environment that I grew up in pushed me in another direction. Watching your videos causes me to ask myself… is it possible for me to continue in the field I am in and also pursue a much more simple life and pursue dreams that I have had but have never put into action. I am an old soul, at least, i think I am, just hearing these words of such affirmation, invoked tears. My family values practicality and technicality and whilst that may be favourable, They fail to match my emotional sensitivity. (which is completely okay! everyone is different!) in this modern society, it is sometimes looked down upon to possess a strong passion for nature, writing as well as poetry. And while that does not affect me or bother me in any way. solely hearing validation from an individual with similar mindsets and morals, provides great comfort, thank you. :)

There are some of us who would like to live this way of life, to be in tune with nature, authentic. But then it's always a question of how can we do that while also helping our loved ones live a comfortable life. It's always a question of are we being selfish. I too have been called an old soul. I think rather than having an old soul, people like you and me really just take more time to understand and consider life than some of our peers. It's easier for us to evaluate our habits and our lives because of this. As a result we become perhaps more wise, more understanding than those around us. We're not old souls, but just people who take the time to be thoughtful.

Wow! Watching how you use things from the earth and the appreciation you have for nature. It stirs up many desires in my own heart. I have always loved being outdoors. As I child I would make things out of things in nature. But my parents and the environment that I grew up in pushed me in another direction. Watching your videos causes me to ask myself… is it possible for me to continue in the field I am in and also pursue a much more simple life and pursue dreams that I have had but have never put into action. Thank you so much for sharing your story and being an inspiration to slow down and find joy in the little beauties of nature and living a slower peaceful life!

My little sister Thomasina, 16, is an old soul; she falls asleep at evening and wakes at dawn, her life a spiral of colours akin to a totem pole whose ribbons are decorated by her friends she weaves in and out from while she dances to her own tune. I am an old soul, at least, i think I am, just hearing these words of such affirmation, invoked tears. My family values practicality and technicality and whilst that may be favourable, They fail to match my emotional sensitivity. (which is completely okay! everyone is different!) in this modern society, it is sometimes looked down upon to possess a strong passion for nature, writing as well as poetry. And while that does not affect me or bother me in any way. solely hearing validation from an individual with similar mindsets and morals, provides great comfort, thank you. :)

I too am a watercolor artist and in love with the simplicity of nature.. it's so true you find peace when you embrace who you are and not try to fit into a mold that everyone else tries to squeeze you into. There are some of us who would like to live this way of life, to be in tune with nature, authentic. But then it's always a question of how can we do that while also helping our loved ones live a comfortable life. It's always a question of are we being selfish. You offered something invaluable when you said, "You could be an old soul that thrives in a modern world simply by choosing hope over despair, attuning yourself to nature, and embodying what inspires you." I agree with you, engaging with & appreciating the unspoiled natural world around you is a wonderfully peaceful way to live.
