Great video - I did the same on my 2018 Versys 650 LT which came configured much like your BMW with side cases. My trunk was a fraction of cost of the factory case and is actually a little nicer in some ways. Anyway, well done - you made it look easy. Wish I had seen this video first and invested in that cool tool you used for making threaded holes.
I just bought a 2016 GT and was stunned by the $1600 cost for a top case. This is sure a good alternative. Thank you.

There's no question BMW stuff is nice. Just like their riding apparel! But man, that stuff is pricey.
