The announcer is among the top in his field, he always gets his information correct and has good timing between the races. Great job on the video and maybe I'm a bit bias as far as Mopars are concerned but I can't seem to help it-I just love Mopars!
love mopars but hate this kind of racing. its so boring to watch someone get a head start. its not even racing at this point, they might as well just run one at a time
Bracket racing can seem that way, but if you think of it as "you against a clock" and not another driver, it gets to be more difficult. Cutting a good light and running consistent every time (no sand-bagging please). It may be boring to watch, but is fun to do. Plus you can run this class in ANYTHING! Get out of the stands and run something!
I don't ever think about me against the clock, I don't have to beat the clock just the person beside me. Maybe its because ive never been on a track, idk If you like to race the clock that's cool with me, its your choice. I play with my 05 Dakota x-cab 2wd ( Not Fast but Runs Good ) on the street so its who ever make it to the finish line first wins
Don't bash bracket racing before you try it. I understand it sounds boring, but it's way harder and more competitive then it looks! If drag racing was all about speed, the poor guys wouldn't be racing.
You might also say that they could just have brackets for every second(10 second guys, 9 second guys etc). The problem with this is most guys will just sign up for a second slower then they can do and try to get as close to the second as they can without going faster, So theyd just be racing the clock again.
Nice to know, when you can't see the board , give the car, not the driver's name. You talk too fast, never sure who's driving what. Or show the board please .
Ok I love all muscle era cars, but honestly so sick of mopo guys all they can brag about is hemi this hemi that. 440 6 pack 413 wedge were incredible motors. But sorry there were plenty of bad ass motors from GM and Ford that put hemi to shame. It just so happened that NASCAR and nhra sided with mopo and kept other manufacturers from topping their beloved hemi. What's even worse is the hemi design did not belong to Chrysler they just bought the rights to the design and still market the sh#t out of it. Don't get me wrong I would love to own a 1970 hemi cuda but I can't stand this b's marketing. For God's sake let's put a hemi in every Chrysler ever made 😄

Every race series has made it a point to protect 1.GM 2.FoMoCo Look at '79 ProStock...Glidden leaves Ford to run a SMALL BLOCK mopar with the W2 heads.....after the most dominant season of Glidden's career, the NHRA Institutes a 500cid displacement. Currently, in FSS competition...the DragPak Challengers ran over the rest, so every year Ford and Chevy get more blower pulley, and the Mopar get weight added. Look it up, SON.

Just making statements from things I've read over the years whether or not they're true doesn't matter to me. A high school friend of mine had a 440 GTX built by ramchargers which was just a couple miles from where I lived and Detroit Dragway was just as close. What I wouldn't give to experience those days again.

the problem with bracket racing, is a kid on a go kart could go in and win the whole damn thing. its just foot on the gas and wait.

Mopars are hard to beat - when they get a half second head start or red light all the time!!! My 95% stock GTO used to eat them alive.
