Sorry for the re-upload guys, a music clip that I thought was FREE was not and caused the video to be flagged for copyright. I have removed the element in question, Enjoy!
That is suck a pain in the arse, I had that recently on a couple of videos. I had watched the other one but I will see this one until the end too for the algorythm ;)
@The_RC_Family Thanks mate, yeah pretty inconvenient but I've only got my own ignorance to blame 😂 we live and we learn Dwight! Thank you for watching the video TWICE that's dedication right there! Much appreciated mate, cheers 👍
Great video, I'm going to start my IR40 build soon just waiting on parts from Amazon. You're the only youtuber that showed and explained in detail the hinge issue with this truck. Thanks again. 🤙
Perfect timing! I just ordered this kit yesterday. Thank you for pointing out the details about the rear hinge. I plan on using this with a MEUS LCG chassis and laydown servo
I have the blue truck. I install 68mm super soft tires and aluminum bead locks. I went back to the stock BF Goodrich tires and wheels. I installed Hyrax foams and vented the tires. Works great. I have stainless steel drive shafts, stainless steel 'slow crawl' gear set. Steel gears in front & rear diff's. Great little crawler...
Haha, I was commenting and watching as it disappeared earlier. Great overview and build. Love your attention to details and explanation. May just have to pick up a TRX4M just for this body. Very nice looking especially with that cage. Cheers! (For the second time… haha)
Thanks mate, yeah sorry about that! I grabbed what I thought was a no strings attached music file through my video editing software. Turns out they aren't giving that file away! Whoops! I will be sourcing music files elsewhere from now on. Thanks for watching again and commenting Brian, this is a pretty sweet option for the TRX4M I must say!
Yeah the instruction sheet is very basic and contains some errors, mostly related to the rear body hinge. It's a fun rig once it's done! Thanks for watching!
This thing sucks. He didn’t good job assembling it, but mine was ruined, screws popping out, screws stripped out halfway down. I quit buying injora after two of these that were both crap.
That front grill might look nice cut out and adding in, from behind, some aluminum mesh or some thin stainless weld rod or bike spokes cut for grill bars and epoxied in. Looks really nice though. Maybe for the rear cover, a scale canvas tarp type thing might be an option. Maybe some little snaps to still get access to the wires, etc.
I do like the mesh idea for the grill, I'm going to work on some designs to cut with my vinyl cutter and see what I can come up with. I may also try to make a black kydex deck for the rear cage to cover everything, haven't decided yet! Thanks for the ideas and for hanging out 👍
@@havikhobbies Kydex cover would look awesome. Really durable too. I was thinking Styrene might make for a good way to do a DIY body, but Kydex would be pretty bomb-proof.
I already have a trx4m defender, with just wheel weights for trail running in the forest. I'm going to buy a bronco just to be able to make it a custom ir40 with additional brass upgrades, tires, maybe even put the injora MB100 ESC on it... This will be my first real crawler reserved solely for crossing. I find the look cool, injora should make others in the same style. I would love to have a 66 gas in this style, we don't have any real trucks in 1/18
Nice video. Just a couple of questions. First, did you look at the Injora Tarantula and compare? If so, what made you decide to go with the IR40? Second, I see lots of people with gage blocks on their benches. What do you use them for????
I chose the IR40 Body set because of the looks! I use the 1-2-3 blocks for so many things, setting up jigs for my drill press and belt grinder, using it for a quick 90 degree angle reference, they are very handy around the workshop and get tons of use! Thanks for watching!

Hey man! What bumpers are you using on that build? Is it the one that injora sells as the one for that body but says compatible with the redcat ascent? I just want to know it because they look amaizing, high clearance, and want to know if it is compatible, love the vids man! If you do answer will keep you as a contact in any questions I get! Haha, if it is compatible I’m going to finish my trx4m injora build, and complete the full custom build. Cheers
The front bumper is part of the Injora IR40 Body Kit. I'm not sure if it works with any other body's trucks? Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment!
Thanks Nath, Yeah fits the chassis perfectly and looks great on this size tire! The grill needs some love, the front on view of this thing is not its best angle!
Yo man! How you doing over there? Been a while since u dropped a vid. Was just thinking I havent seen anything from Nick in a good while now, hope all is well with u guys. Anyways, peace dude!
Thanks for checking in Durp! All is well mate, just taking a bit of a break to spend time with the family and work has been crazy busy. The weather has been really nice here in North Carolina so I've been starting to go through the fleet of trucks and get everything ready for the rocks! Hope you're doing well mate!

That's awesome! I'm glad you were able to find some useful information in the video. Should be a pretty slick build, thanks for hanging out mate 👍

Sounds awesome! How does it look on the stock size tires? I agree it's a great great option for the TRX4M!
Looks pretty cool, actually. I just switched to the new Swamp Claws on the stock wheels....So far so good.@@havikhobbies

Injora again bring out quality for a fair price. Great vid mate
Thanks mate! Yeah injora is consistently coming up with awesome products that almost everyone can enjoy! I love it 👍
This thing is a pain to assemble lol. I’m still working on mine. Thanks for the tips

Thanks for taking the time to check it out!
Great video, I think it looks awesome!

The IR40 is a great platform for a dedicated crawler that still has some scale appeal! Should be an awesome build!

Can you share where you purchased your little hardware kit from with the additional screws? Looks handy not just for this job, but in general. Thanks!

@@havikhobbies thanks!
I was thinking the same with the esc, a cargo net or something would sort that
Yeah I think a few carefully placed scale accessories with a cargo net would look awesome!
@@havikhobbies Check out what O Brothers RC did to his, used a mess to cover it up, looked really awesome :)
@@DurpVonFronz Yes I just looked a his video, the mesh really cleaned up the look of it 👍 gives me some ideas. Thanks Durp!
the first bracket position is for the defender Chassie
The Bronco and Defender share the same chassis. I purchased my Trx4m as a red Defender! Only difference is the body and bumpers, chassis is identical.

@ oh ok man thanks, didn’t know that bumper came with the kit! Imma re watch and see if i see it
How's it work with a stand up servo?
Servo in stock location works fine with IR40 kit, that's how I'm running mine 👍
Yeah same thing with my kit, not enough 8 mm screws
Yeah I guess ultimately it's not a huge deal but I felt like it was worth mentioning, how are you liking the IR40 Andrew?
Do you have a link to that work matt?
Yep I sure do 👍

Nice one.. body does sit nicely, but yeah that grill is a little underwhelming for sure
Thanks Nath, Yeah fits the chassis perfectly and looks great on this size tire! The grill needs some love, the front on view of this thing is not its best angle!

My kit was the same. Some say that 8mm are too long and dimple the bed.
I think if you really tightened those screws down there might be potential for that to happen! Thanks for watching, how are you liking the IR40?
was really into this until I saw all the exposed wires an battery at the rear. A cover wouldget me modding to fit my FMS's
maybe wedge a spare wheel in there?
Go check out O Brothers RC, he made a mesh cover for the back that really cleaned it up!
