Oregon's Christmas Valley Sand Dunes!

- Over 8,000 acres of BLM-managed recreational dunes for ATV/OHV riding! Access is free! There is camping available with direct access to the dunes. Services are about 16 miles away in the town of Christmas Valley.
In town, there are typical small-town amenities and friendly people. There are RV Parks, fuel, groceries, hardware stores, motels, restaurants, churches, a library and medical clinic, a few eclectic shops, a Dollar General (of course) and a couple of tractor stores. There is even a lake and a 9-hole golf course!
There are a lot of really interesting geological formations around to check out too, like Fort Rock, Derrick Cave, and Crack in the Ground. Some areas are closed to off-road vehicles for wilderness and wildlife studies, so be sure to stay on the trails outside of the dune areas and check with BLM for restricted areas.
The area has abundant wildlife, we often see pronghorn, deer, coyote and many birds of prey. It's high-desert in Christmas Valley, so be prepared for those warm summer days and cool crisp nights! This is Dark Sky Country, so be sure and check out the incredible nighttime skies!
