Who’d of thought it was that bad underneath, paint can hide a lot of trouble!
Great that you did a wonderful job of the re spray.
Good luck when applying the decals 👍

Thanks Dave. The Tank overall wasn't too bad, just some poorly done paint work and I have no idea why someone would put filler and paint over OEM decals, When I took it all off, there was no damage under the decals, so who knows why ?? Decals and Paint is my favourite part

Great job mate! I just brought one 1984 for restoration. I was wondering what is the specific code for this red? Thanks

Thanks ! I will see if h still have the paint Can . And will post the code and brand of paint . I had it colour scanned at the auto paint shop. Are u doing the engine as well? As u will see in later videos , changing the starter chain and tensioner is a must . I ignored that advice and paid the price , now I have to pull the engine again

Paint is brand “Cromax Mosaic SBBC”. Paint Code is 935986B 9. Name is 2017 Hyundai Racing Red (that’s the car colour it matched to)

That sucks. Alternator chain and tensioner were off. Was it loose before you changed the starter clutch? BTW, the whole alternator and shaft can come out with rotor fin in place. Use nut hold shaft to undo nut inside that cover plate.

Took the alternator out with the shaft but did take the blades off the first time, ill leave them on next time though. I didnt see anything odd before or after and the bike only ran briefly before the sprague expired. So.....What is a "Nut Hold Shaft", do you have a link to a pic/listing of one of those ?, I could use one but cant find it when I search online. cheers

@@true-moto-resto sorry, typo. The bolt that holds the blade can be used to hold the shaft from spinning to loosen end nut under the plate. The entire alternator then comes off in one piece. My shaft nut didn’t look as tight as yours though.

@@porkchop2723 No worries. yea mine was quite tight.
