It's good to see people repurposing bikes, not just parking them and buying the next shiny thing. There are a lot of good engines rotting away because of fairing damage or a bent rim.
Gets you off on the right foot budget wise too often times. As opposed to say, buying a new bike to start with. Of course some could look at that as short changing potential customers but not really, if : you are honest about the origin of the doner bike. Or you still are and do a total rebuild of the mechanical end. Don't laugh. Not everyone does. Still, if it's a stock Triumph some people will still whine that it became anything other than a stock restoration. For some sticking a hardtail on a stock Bonneville is like a dagger thru the heart.
@@RawMetalRacers Awesome! I was just curious. Bike looks great! You inspired me to start my own build. Of course, i don't have anywhere near the tooling you have but i am trying to get to your level one day
Hi Richy, Thanks mate! These are the original forks and yoke. I think the frames are quite identical, so it wil probably fit without massive modifications. Maybe another mounting lug, and that’s it.
I love your content. Im currently in the works trying to make my shadow phantom bobber project as well. I’m looking for a new custom speedometer gauge that can be attached to the handlebars. Do you have any recommendations?
I have the exact same bike and I'm putting 13" tall bars on it. Can't find extended throttle cables and hoses anywhere, where did your buddy/you get those?
Dylan, for the throttle cables and brake hoses you’ve got universal pieces in every length! I use MKX for brake lines. They have brake lines where you can put on any swivel you want.
Pindaaman volgens mij heb ik hier M12 moeren voor gebruikt, maar tegenwoordig pak ik een motor ketting om de afstand te bepalen, deze leg ik over het midden van het wiel!
You probably could, but you’ll have to modify it. The frame of the VT1100 consists of 2 tubes below the tank, a peanut tank is mostly made for a single tube frame!
Kelly Brits , Thanks! The RMR cap is already made in several colors, but I'm working on a website/Webshop to sell them. But if you send me an email with your home address in it, I will send you the different models so you can choose! My email: stefanvdriet@home.nl Cheers!

Great job :-) greetings from Poland
Awesome video brother
A shadow of a Beemer.
masterpiece
Ok. I gotta ask. Did you drill and tap your frame for your seat pan?
We’ve drilled holes and then put some rivet nuts in them.

Lindo trabalho estou impressionado com o talento da moto
what fork and yoke did you use? is this the original?
And do you know a fueltank from a 1988 fits on a 1985 frame?
This is a awsome bike...
Hi Richy,
Thanks mate!

@@RawMetalRacers thnx 💪🏼
Friend, could this bike be fitted with a peanut tank? And would it look good?
The frame has two tubes at the top, so it’s quite wide. That’s probably why you don’t see them with a peanut tank
What kind of welding machine do you use?
I’ve got a Lincoln V305 AC DC
Good job 👍,

What rear fender is that? I neeeeed it

Santiago Brazeiro good to hear mate! I personally haven’t mount a handlebar speedometer yet, so I don’t have recommendations!

Why is it soooo hard to find a replacement gas tank for these bikes!???
John Valenzuela John Valenzuela this is still the original gas tank!
Handlebars are not high enough
Lmao 😆
Cakep .. top
can you get the rear fender blank?

Can a tanke peanut be installed on that bike?
You probably could, but you’ll have to modify it. The frame of the VT1100 consists of 2 tubes below the tank, a peanut tank is mostly made for a single tube frame!
Raw Metal Racers If you're right but as I've seen many videos of 650 slings with that tanke I thought I could also see it ok thank you very much
What thickness metal would you use to make seat pan, electrical, and battery boxes?
"Road sign" aluminum works well for all that ! Its about 1/8" thick. Or 10ga.
If using steel,12ga. Is good for seat pan.
18ga. Is good for the rest.
why put your protective glasses on the camera?
What rear fender is that?
It's custom made Lucas, no kit you can buy somewhere.
Soon as I saw the kugel ape hangers LOL new it was a phony
Where is your shop
scott anderson, my shop is in the south of The Netherlands!
Ну куда такой высокий руль?😮 типа.... руки вверх - покажите подмышки😀😀😀!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Nice vid. But welding with the gas tank is a little dangerous.
Thanks mate! Welding is always done with the tank empty and ventilated for a long time with pressurized air.
@@RawMetalRacers oh ok. It had me worried there lol.
Pussy.
Love the video, where do i get a RMR Cap from?
