I run a executive car company, I have a 1972 Imperial Lebaron, 1979 New Yorker Fifth Avenue, 1997 Lincoln Town Car. The New Yorker is a work horse! It is by far our most requested ride. When we pick up pilots at the airport they all get a kick out of the lighted opera windows in the New Yorker. I see from this video that this feature was only on the Fifth Ave Edition, as yours has outside opera lamps. You have a beautiful car. I am considering to convert mine to fuel injection, for longevity. Smooth idle, and better milage.
    Nice video

I installed FiTech FI on mine...I have had her engine and trans re-built as well... the FI works quite well...comes with a small box to plug in to the FI on the engine and you can adjust to your specs!

@@brettgoddard28 Thanks for that info. It is a shame to think that Chrysler as a name will probably be dissolved within 5 years, but that's life. What a great Automobile company it was.

I recently bought a 79 New Yorker in Spinnaker white with the red cloth an vinyl interior. I am the third owner. The man i bought it from is from New York and his grandfather bough the car new in March of 1980. Apparently his grandfather bragged about getting a deal on the car since it had been on the dealer's lot since July of 79. The car has 21,700 original miles. His Grandfather never drove the car much and it sat up for many years so my car is in the same position as yours.

I own a green 1979 New Yorker. I have 49,000 original miles, original Holley 2 barrel carburetor, original lean burn computer, all in perfect working order. I have the 5.9 liter engine. My car was built in June, 1979.

My first brand-new car was a '79 New Yorker (base model, not a 5th Ave). Dove Gray with the red velour interior, and I was just 22! What a GREAT driving car- handled like no other American sedan at the time. Would love to have another one like it, but an R-body is a very rare sight today.

I think that Edelbrock helps that V-8 produce more than 190 horsepower (4-barrell carb rating). Great!

Yes Rev. Fontana...altho now I have installed FiTech fuel injection and she runs even better and the garage smells much better too without the gassy smell of carburetors!

Mom wants to know how you can tell that your car is a "she"?? (or isn't that something you discuss in public?") Your car is beautiful!! But if "she" was a guy, would you have named him "Dorito??" In which case your car would be very handsome. Sigh.
