The Lumia 1020 always needs you to manually setup photos, if you want the best results, and still challenges modern phones with it's image quality. Using the manual interface (still the best UI hands down) and tools like exposure bracketing you can get all the detail you need in an image though you have to do the work yourself to process them all into a final image where an iPhone will do that for you automatically in an instant. It would be amazing to see a slightly updated Lumia with a more powerful processor. The real magic is in the algorithms that keep the images natural and not smeary looking like modern phones. The 808 and Lumia 950\XL models are the top in that respect and the Lumia 1020 is pretty good too.
The Lumia 1020 has so much character and charm that I was able to tell which one is which by just looking at the bokeh and flare colors, the white balance on that camera is inconsistent and quite green (make the images look more cinematic and charming) also, the images are not over sharpened like the iPhone ones, contrast is amazing and the objects are clear. Since it’s a 26mm lens it produces some distinct distortion around the edges, the center is sharper than the edges.
I've been doing a side by side with my Lumia 950 Vs Pixel 6 Pro and 9 times out of 10 I prefer the output (no editing) from the Lumia. It's mostly the colours, reds in particular are just spot on with the Lumia but not good at all with the Pixel.
Lumia 1020 is still preffffffect after many years , this is mind blowing🤯
Amazing phone
I love that there are still people out there comparing the 808 to modern phones. I still have one, and use it for pictures from time to time.
wow that Carl Zeiss optics lens in Lumia 1020 is still rocking 🤯🤯
Vivo x200 use now

Completely agree with you. I would really like to have true 808 or 1020 successor!

Thanks for the videos. Are the pictured edited in anyway ? Did you use manual settings while shooting or automatic ?
Thanks
You’re welcome! I think you mind find all the answers in the video. Right after the guessing game.
I wanted the lumia 1020 badly back then, OS limitations made me go with android Samsung.
How to take hdr images on Nokia(808 and 1020)?
808 is best for natural color on your eyes.
