This is an amazing “no sew” method! I’m an avid sewer but since we are going to Disney in 8 days, I will be making 6 or 7 different colors at work!!!! Using this glue method will be better for me!!
1. What kinda headbands do you use or where do you find them? I found that I had trouble with the size of the headbands not being so secure on the head. 2. Is this heavy? I'm not sure if it was the combo of the band itself or what but my ears were kinda heavy & kept falling off or falling forward til my daughter didn't want to wear them anymore.
I seriously appreciate the length of the video. Very thorough instructions; best I’ve found! I’m making some for my sister’s trip to Disney and I’m surprising her with 5 of them! Lol
THIS IS THE BEST TUTORIAL OUT THERE! Thank you SO much for sharing this with us!!! I was struggling with getting my ears to be a perfect round shape, this method solved ALL of my problems. THANK YOU!!
Thank you for the tutorial, Sarah. Your explanations were clear and precise and I got a pretty good result on my very first try. They are not perfect, but they are definitely wearable. Thanks for taking the time to share :)
Thank you! I made some last night and your method works great!!! Even hubby was impressed with how solid and well built they are! Thank you again! Never buying ears again! ❤
I love doing diy I have craft room and I’m going a Disney cruise in 2019 next summer I’m excited to make my own Disney ears this way. Thanks for the video and you’re makeup is beautiful by the way.
I am new to the Disney ears, but when I discovered them I thought they were just the cutest thing. I was so close to purchasing some, but none really grabbed me. I kept thinking I wanted to do my own but had no idea how to go about it. THANK YOU for taking the time to post this! I’m so grateful! Going to make some for my sister and myself. Wish me luck!!!!!
Wow, not only do you make this look easy to do, I love the combo of fabrics you chose and all the embellishments. Each addition compliments each other. I need to try this!
This was a great tutoria!! Had to find a quick and easy DIY last minute to make a pair for our trip next day and this video was my lifesaver! Of course mine didnt came out as cute as yours but not bad for my first 3 pairs..lol ended up making 3 to gift to my nieces who were meeting us at Disneyland! Thanks and I will definitely be watching all your videos to practice and make more ears.
You don’t have to buy the template. That’s seriously ridiculous. Just google Auntie Tay’s Mickey ear template and you can get the printable templates for free.
So helpful! I followed this tutorial and it turned out great but my little daughter(3) said it was too heavy. I’ve been trying to brainstorm new ideas!
I would like to make Mickey ice cream ears with a bite taken out of one ear. The ears I saw were made with sparkling black/dark brown fabric and white fabric where the bite was taken out. If you have any ideas I would appreciate it. Thank you Ladonna
How much fabric do you buy when you purchase the fabric? Like a quarter of a yard ? I just don’t want to buy too much fabric if I don’t have to. Love your ears and technique!
Awesome video and can’t wait to try this craft project . This video is a few years old and I can’t seam to find the exact silk filling. Where did you buy this ? Trying to find the exact same bag but not finding it. Again thank you and thanks for sharing your Amazon shopping list .
These ears are so awesome! I have been stressing because my fiancé and I are going on our WDW Honeymoon and ears can be SO expensive! Definitely going to try this. Thanks for the tutorial :)
I have a big trip at the end of September for Disney World‘s 50th anniversary! I cannot wait to try making ears with your tutorial, this is absolutely amazing and it looks like something I can do, thank you for making this especially for those of us who do not sew!!!
Thank you for sharing your tips, I love the technique that you use. I'm also a crafter and I'm inspired to create my personal set of ears to wear the next time I go to Walt Disney World in the near future. Is it possible for you to post a shopping list and some possible dimensions? Not sure where you are located but me being about 1 hour from the L.A. Garment District I would love to get all of my supplies when I go there. THANKS AGAIN for this video, I'm going to attempt to make some ears this weekend and I'm excited about doing so.
my link for the template its in my bio, I get abut 7 inches of fabric at a time for the ears, and trim off what I don't use! so lucky I'm a little over an hour from there but I would love to go there to get more crafting supplies!
I am so glad I found your tutorial. I've been making my own ears but out of trial and error with wire ears and flowers and I've been dying to get into the fabric ears. You made the step by step seem like a breeze. Thank you! I would love to see more!!
The big bow? Measurement estimate? Which glue do use? I see the gorilla glue. Then a Adtech pro strength was added to the video to cover the gorilla glue? and the bio ? Need clarification thanks. And yes watched the video two years ago. And finally decided to do some ears for when Disney reopens 😊
Makeup Darling they're AWESOME!!! They're the 'most finished looking' DiY ears I've seen on TH-cam. I wish I could post a picture, maybe I'll see you at the parks!
I've been watching videos like this for months and I'm so glad I found yours, love your technique! I also suck at sewing so thank you so much for this!!! 😂
I am just learning how to make the Mickey Inspired Ears. Your tutorial was great, it was slow, you weren't in a hurry like most I have seen. Learned a lot. Thank You. I did notice you didn't cut one side that it the fabric was sticking out of the ribbon. I did add to my favorites.
Thank you so much @SarahIniguez! It looks like the link to the headbands is the same link for the glue sticks. Would you mind please posting a link to headbands you would recommend or the dimensions/width that works best? I am SO excited to try these out. Thank you for posting!!! Wonderful job and great How To!! The ears are AWESOME!
thank you, I worked very hard to find a method of my own and trust me it wasn't easy! I had so many frustrated days and sloppy ears but one day it all clicked
I’m going to Disneyland this weekend. This video has helped me so much! Your technique has the best I’ve seen.. I’m going to be buying all the supplies I need to make some for my daughter and I! 🐭💘 Could you make some Coco inspired ears?!
my first paid of ears were so huge they would fall off my head because of how heavy they were! they weren't perfectly round because I'm not the best sewer, and there was glue everywhere so I used flowers to hide them which was really expensive! it was a work in progress
Im normally against hot glue methods because it looks messy and the shape is off but this is amazing. I seriously would have never thought to do it like this! Im gonna have to put my sewing machine away and try this out :) thank you for making this video!
I'd be more than willing to purchase the template you've created! Your construction technique and sizing makes the most sense. If your template is for sale, please link me. If not, you really should consider it!
Thanks for this vid. This has helped me start making my own ears! Are you able to upload a template for the fabric to cover the headband? This seems to be the hardest part for me! Thanks in advance.
I just finished making my FIRST ears thanks to your tutorial!!! I’m going to attempt to wear them during my Disney trip in July, but they are REALLY heavy (all my fault with all the hot glue I used). I’m going to try making another pair to fix what I messed up with my first pair. Lol
Made these for my family reunion for all my nieces and nephews and everyone loved them. What brand and color lipstick do you have on? I'm obsessed with the color.
Have you ever used a Cricut decal on an ear? If you have, did you iron it on before or after putting it on the cardboard and stuffing? If you haven't I feel like this needs to be experimented with.
Thank you, thank you, thank you so much for this video! I really thought making custom ears was gonna be a nightmare but your video made it super easy. 💗
I love making ears but they always turn out so lumpy this is the first ever trick that has actually helped in getting perfectly round ears. Thank you you are a goddess 🙏❤️

The way you smacked it to prove they’re sturdy 😂 can’t wait to follow this and create my own ears!!!
Thank you for the tutorial, Sarah. Your explanations were clear and precise and I got a pretty good result on my very first try. They are not perfect, but they are definitely wearable. Thanks for taking the time to share :)
