From the USA: I think you have the best reviews. When I buy a car I want to know how it handles on the real road and not the race track. You do that better than anyone. Also you give the options of interior and exterior choices and what the benefits or downside might be of each. Fantastic!

I had commented on another video before on how your comments are only about aggressive drivers. you did reply back to me. I am happy to see that your reviews are better now with more neutral comments and more about the options of the car. you are the only reviewer I noticed that talks about the small details like the clicks of the buttons and vents, while others talk about only the performance of the engine and the looks. everyone else seems to only repeat everyone else's comments.
1. Virtual cockpit is a necessity. It means more dough but I think it's a really nice innovation that adds to the experience. 2. Red rings and accents are garish and I normally like red interiors. 3. I know Thomas likes the seats but they really don't seem like they are that supportive (not much bolstering). 4. Another great review Thomas!

I have been a fan of the black ops for some time, but the new facelift I LOVE the chrome. Black ops looks like a 'tuner' car, chrome trim looks high quality, executive car. Picking mine up Saturday!
I personally prefer hatchback's but, I really like the Audi S3 sedan, it's a great looking car, almost coupe like. But as a hatch, personally I would have the Mercedes A Class & BMW 1 Series over the A3!, great work again Autogefühl.

@38:20 you can see the gearbox shifts from 5th to 3rd, and this takes a second or so because a DSG can only preselect an even gear if an uneven gear is engaged (probably the 4th in your case). You can probably influence this by varying throttle input. With all types of automatic transmissions, you can provoke unwanted shifts. The only type of transmission which always does what you want is a manual.
Nach dem sehr gelungenen Facelift ist der A3 endlich wieder up-to-date. Der S3 macht ganz schön was her in der coolen Farbe !! Beim S3 werden die Unterschiede zum Vor-Faceliftmodell am besten deutlich !! Klasse Review !!
Would I go for the Virtual Cockpit? I wouldn't even consider buying a car that has such a cool thing as an option without it. Anybody buying an Audi without Matrix Leds, the virtual cockpit and no cool rims really misses out on some of the better things in life.
Some of these options combined cost upwards of $11,000. I think given the choice, most people would buy a high end car with no options over a low end car with all options. Audi will definitely sell more cars without it, although it might become standard one day.
Tough call. You add all the features and you can have a slightly lesser equipped model up. Still worth it though! Virtual cockpit is coming to the VW's though... which is kind of a kick in the nuts for Audi drivers.
Meh, I bought a mercedes with AMG pack and all the fluff you mention, I regret it, waste of money, should have bought a bigger model without the fluff.

vitrual cockpit, i have been wiating for it for the A3 range :), very classy and useful, also you can hide the centre retractable screen, to have a less obstructive view of the road.
Will just add another comment. You're not the first to notice come weird behavior about the shifting and reving of some Audi models Tomas. My dad has a Audi A6 2.0TDI ultra with the S-tronic from 2014 and he also has experienced some weird behaviors when flooring it. In his case the engine just downshifts and revs, but there is no acceleration until the car shifts to the next gear after the downshift. To conclude, there is something wrong here.
Good review. Well done sir! It was a tab but on the long side of a review but I think you explained everything pretty good. Most other reviews go over lap times ( 0-60mph) etc. I'm excited to see the r version of this. Hopefully you can have a review on that as well. 👍👍😄

So, I'm in the US and we're not getting the "under the hood" updates. My biggest concern is the 6 vs 7 speed transmission. Do you European owners think it's worth the wait for the 7 speed and extra HP?

Hi, I drove the S3 Sportback (sepang blue with performance package). That means all the sport extras in south hemisphere (Australia). I didn't notice any funny turbo lag, but I didn't drive the car long enough to evaluate it deeply. Also I preferred the dynamic drive mode more than comfort with the drive select system. It worked very well around normal back roads and free ways. It gave the car more stability and solid steer. This seems contrary to most opinions. I think reviews of the S3 from auto channels to be understating and too critical, maybe because of its price and possibly brand bias, but the S3 is a spectacular machine. I want it!

30:40 Not sure about Germany, but in Hungary, you can do whatever you want on your phone as long as it isn't in your hands. If you have a car mount, you can even play games on it legally. Doesn't mean you should, but you can.

I second this. The man's accent alone is reason to watch. A true pleasure to listen to - pairs very well with the sophistication of the reviews being conducted. Love it.
For me the biggest change that I'm looking forward to is the 7 speed DSG instead of the current 6 speed DSG in the S3. I hope it brings the rpm down at highways speed a little bit, I always feel it's revving just a little too much.

the engine check light is ALWAYS on in every single vehicle of the Volkswagen corporation brands when the ignition is turned on. This is to show that the light itself does work. As soon as you start the engine for real, the flash disappears. You only have a problem when the check engine light goes on when the engine is running :)

Why on your reviews of all VAG cars Check Engine it's turned on?
the engine check light is ALWAYS on in every single vehicle of the Volkswagen corporation brands when the ignition is turned on. This is to show that the light itself does work. As soon as you start the engine for real, the flash disappears. You only have a problem when the check engine light goes on when the engine is running :)
