I’m going to Beijing this December (first two weeks) I was honestly scared everything would be covered in smog and snow sludge from some blogs I read. Your video made me feel less worried about the weather! I’m sure I’ll still be cold since I’m from very warm winter Texas but it looks like it’s worth it!
There’s usually sandstorms in Beijing coming from deserts in Inner Mongolia or further to the North during springtime. At least that was the case a few years ago. So the time in a year actually makes a huge difference.

I know I'm pretty late to the show, but how well can one manage without speaking Chinese/Mandarine in Beijing? It looks like such a great adventure but I'm worried I wouldn't be able to communicate with most people, like when buying stuff or asking for directions/help. Thankful for any input! :)
the most classic type of fruit stick is the hawthorn one. The strawberry ones are just fancy stuff. The seller prolly recommended because it's expensive lol.

You can buy some pickles, peanuts, beans or 辣条 with you when u drink Baijiu.
Drinking Baijiu without any food is challenging...

You need to warm up baijiu and drink it in a very small cup. When it's warmed up, it won't be that strong and you can taste something sweety in it.

it can be difficult but a translator phone can help but it's best to learn some Chinese it makes a real difference trust me.
If you can speak English, you can easily learn spoken Chinese! The difficult part of Chinese is the text ~
