***So this is actually long overdue. I've sung both songs a couple times already (including during the lockdown season for some events separately) but I've always loved these two classics. For this cover, I decided to mash up Moon River & Usahay for their similar form and same magical feel of nostalgia.. But also because I wanted to showcase my Cebuana/Bisaya roots through this Pilita Corales hit, and pay a last tribute to my dear Luna who recently passed away through this song from Audrey Hepburn. Joining me in this rendition is my love @Dave Lamar , my musical director @Adonis Tabanda Music , and Miguel Jimenez of @Stages Sessions to which we're thrilled to share that just like this video, we'll soon be transitioning to a new chapter as we're on our #roadto10years!!! Special thanks to my Tito David Cosico for taking us around his hometown in San Pablo, Laguna for our outdoor nature scenes. ♡

I'm glad I watched this in premiere real time unspoiled, (cause you know how we go nuts sharing when the Goodness drops lol) I got the maxium "twist". It's Fall season in the US and the whole vibe, from the vocals you just "fall" into 😊, the warm comfort of the instrumentation, (nothing is rushed). The Harmonies (❤) Feels so seasonal! This cover will be the next “Akin Ka Na Lang”. It is so smooth and pleasant. She sang Usahay so perfectly that no other singer will ever sing it better. She didn’t sing to make it sound emotional, she just sang it with her “flavor”, like the sound of a peaceful ripples of a flowing stream. Her belts were so effortlessly smooth. She truly is Dangerous to the local singing industry because no one can equal her voice. To be fair, Miri should rest for awhile and stop rehashing her old cover songs to make way for others to catch up.

To all the non-Bisaya speaking people who didn't grow up with Usahay on the local radio especially as a Mindanaoan, this song hits so differently. More than the vocals.

Whenever I hear "Usahay" being played on radio or elsewhere I can't help my self but cry :-( Then, here comes Mori's version and all the memories of this song from my late grandparents hit me like a rocket. I can still hear there voices singing it in karaoke together :-(

this is my first time to comment here in you tube, that classic song Usahay! reminds me of my late Mother, ang tagal ko hinanap itong song na ito, she sang it, while planting some Vegies in our farm or during our siesta, henihele niya kami sa song na yan, very nostalgic, i love it., nakakaiyak. Morisette you sing like an angel, your talent is endless, i cant wait to watch you in your concerts, or if you visit Germany, i will be there!!!
