When they performed this song live at Castlefest a week or so ago, the ENTIRE audience kept going with the chant of 'We are born of the salt' for a while after the song ended, so the band replayed that part, it was fucking magical
Are you aware that pirates weren't exactly "warriors"? This is a romanticised version, that more appeals people nowadays, but pirates were probably like the worst scum we have in our days. Still, I dig this stuff XD
@@cyberhaggis I didn't say that pirates were warriors. I said there are bands based on pirates and warriors now. Which is cool. If you're gonna call me dumb then maybe you should actually read my freaking comment first.
Ah, that reminds me of a proverb in our language: 'Gajah bertarung lawan gajah, pelanduk mati di tengah-tengah' (lit: elephant fighting elephant, the mouse-deer died in the midst). As you might suspect, it's basically when persons of power fight amongst themselves, the common people is the victim.
I'm stealing the last part "Born of salt" for my DnD game. We are pirates in Faerun and NIewinter plans to crush our free pirate republic. I plan to plant the whole "Born of Salt" part into the sky for those bastards to see.
I can already tell the new album is going to be amazing! Hopefully you can make it over to the US soon guys. There are plenty fans here who would love to see you!
While i'm not associated with the band directly, i can surely say, that the band would love to come to US. Just somebody needs to organize their trip/concert(s), and also see, if bringing 12-15 people is financially feasible. In fact, you can do it, if you have spare time.
@@Edelgul1717 I don't have that type of money to organize the band to come here, lol. But I think what we fans can do is bombard the festivals here, like the Renaissance festivals, with emails and ask them to bring the band here. Anything is possible is alot of fans make a lot of noise.
@@josemoreno4864 you'd be surprised, how eager/interested the festival/concert organizers in bringing new blood. The only potential problem that I see is the cost of the overseas travel, yet there are several overseas lowcosters, so if planned properly the price of bringing them from Sweden to the East Coast might be lower, then bringing some people from the west coast. So consider big fest organizers. YBP is one of the most prominent pure-folk pirate bands (as Magda humbly put it once - we are in the top 5). Btw, there are few other pirate bands from Sweden (Pat Razket and Strofrum) that together with the YBP form the Swedish pirate armada. Bringing all of them together will make it a great festival (I saw all of them brought to Zülpich, Germany this year - really good).
Egor Tilpunov I have a friend that organizes an Irish a Festival in NY and understand some of the logistics and fiscal risk. I would be thrilled with and pay good money for a well produced live video of a performance.
@@bahnrokt Well, multi-camera video+production is definitely not something, that YBP have in mind to pay for. Their previous recording, after years of production, was simply released on youtube. But otherwise, if your friends wants, he may contact the Napalm Records person responsible for YBP (thorsten.harm@napalm-events.com) and may also try the band directly yebanishedprivateers@gmail.com.
I'm in love with this band.I often feel alone and like I have no place to belong to. It feels very lonely most of the time, but listening to this band makes me feel like I have people to relate to, people who'll be by my side. This band makes me feel like I'm loved and I love them for it.

I really love this band! It´s creative, magical and so fresh and cool! This new song it´s part of their 4th new album and it´s so GREAT! Ye Banished Privateers show me the colors of free! Ajoy guys! You rules the seven seas!
I think has become my most watched video on TH-cam, in the span of a few weeks. Everything about this is perfect, the music, the lyrics, the message, the history. I'm going to be listening to this song forever, and my partner already knows all the words just from me singing it to myself.
2:05 Is it just me or does this part sound similar to “First Night Back In Port”? Like listen to it and imagine the lyrics “let’s drink, let’s fight, let’s fornicate by the harbor light...”
As the band has repeatedly said - they want to come, and their rider is not really demanding. They rarely decline offers. They are used flying in-outs with low-costers and limited luggage, they are used sleeping in the tents/trailers next to the stage. They do play with amplifiers, but they are used to playing unplugged as well. Yet their role in organizing concerts is very limited. Someone needs to approach them, and invite them, organize the venue, and make sure, there are participants. If you know someone, who organizes the concerts/Renessainse Fairs in your town, approach them and convince them. Alternatively, you can try to organize the concert as well - you just need to organize the venue, get the sound equipment, find accommodation, find tickets to get the band to town, and then sell the concert tickers.
The best ones in random order: Elephants' Dance, Rowing With One Hand, Cooper's Rum, Annabel, I Dream of You, You and Me and the Devil Makes Three, Ring the Bells
