Belle Vue, Wimbledon and Coventry were considered the glamour clubs because they had the best stadiums, although out of the three I’d say Belle Vue had the tattiest.
Once the big stars no longer appear every week it’s only the diehards that attend..the sport could not survive on those numbers and like so many stadiums in and around London the land is worth millions to property developers.
