Thank you for addressing that you and Roberta do not drink. I’ve just recently begun to adopt the sober life after 22 years of consumption. Glad that you now have the ability to take a hot shower. Water conservation will now become more relevant. The fact that the auto-pilot is now functional is a great plus. Looks like your guest is having fun and learning from Duca. Your decision to not use alcohol is commendable. Sailors can be painted with a broad brush when it comes to alcohol abuse.

I did enjoy this one! And don't apologise for not drinking, because it's my goal too. Slowly slowly as they say. Anyway, I used to sail on the Baltic on a replica of a 16th century Scandinavian post yacht, pine over oak, all set up for passengers (so engine, GPS, VHS etc - nicely hidden). So we'd take on passengers, motor out of the harbour and seek a favourable wind. Then, sails up, engine off and bliss. Smiles all round - you can't beat it. 🙂

I have a bottle of 52 for some drinks. I quit drinking 20 years ago. I don't miss it and do not mind being around it and can drink 1 beer and not another. It just doesn't matter. Always good luck.

Hey Duca, I want to make a suggestion to you, that you might like. I saw these L.E.D. strip lights, that you could put around the outer edge of the Sailboat ⛵ rim. In order to light up at night in order to see your boat. And others can see you boat at night so no one will run into your boat. And the will work off your battery bank and solar. And consider getting a portable solar battery generator for light and power.

I just love seeing you guys having good relationships with new friends. I love seeing the sailing and island scenes. I really love seeing either of you when the camera is pointed down as you walk on the boat and seeing the sea at the same time or you guys walking on the beach. For me it represents taking necessary time for enjoying your surroundings which is peaceful for me to watch. With all that said, I also know that living on a boat requires a lot of work and preparation, costs and time. Thanks for your video updates which require a lot of time and editing.

Duca on our ship the Captains rule was 9 second showers, he had spring loaded on off valves on the shower heads. 3 seconds to get wet & soap up & a whole 6 seconds to rinse off. No hot water.
Or you can just get wet, shut the water off, soap up, turn the water back on and rinse. Those spring loaded valves are super annoying and frustrating to use.

On a US Navy ship, we use the 2 minute shower. Turn on water, wet down, turn off water, soap up. Turn on water, rinse off. Turn water off.

Congratulations on not drinking and hopefully not smoking. When they worked on my heart the cardiologist could tell that I didn't smoke or drink.

What I like about your approach, is that you are taking your time to learn your boat. This will pay off greatly on more ambitious trips later.
